I know spoof got taken out but lately my emotes are lacking. The ability to move my identifier somewhere else into the sentence was key for making complex, interesting descriptions.
It's so important for scene setting. Sometimes my emote isn't really about me, its about whats going on and I'm just in it. Bringing the ambient surroundings alive around ourselves to create depth in immersion.
Like this!
"The streets are packed as always, teeming with the bodies of unwashed mixers as they move past. Many hide their faces and a hooded average person is no different, casting wary looks at each other, if they even look up at all."[i/]
A regular pose or emotes is about your reaction to something. You have to be doing something, saying something.. Even if pose itself is archaic because it lacks pronouns, the mechanic is a extremely important to create well rounded, engaging storytelling in a text based game. It's an RP standard. I can't think of a single RPI that doesn't have something you can use in this fashion.
If the acid rain fell any thicker, maybe it would actually rinse the blood from Wildgillers clothes."
Sounds better than..
"Wildgiller stands in the rain. If only it fell thicker, maybe it would rinse the blood from her clothes."
;tldr Please please please bring spoof back.. it makes RP so much more captivating :(
