Tremors Rock RED Violence in the streets! Published 2.2.2097 by NewsDesk |
Yesterday evening tremors rocked southwestern RED, several business and apartment complexes in the area reporting temporary blackouts and a smell of raw sewage so intense that it overpowered the usual stench of the lower quarter's streets.

This came a few minutes after a WJF Tactical Response Vehicle was sighted parked across from Black Bamboo Industries on South Tamiya, along a strip of real estate claimed by the "Arteries" gang as their "turf". Eyewitnesses report that four figures were seen exiting the vehicle - only one of which appeared to be a Street Judge. Some claim television personality and Korova Milk Bar manager Navarre Russo was a part of the group that crossed South Tamiya and entered the abandoned church at the Ashlin Intersection. Shortly after the group's ingress the streets were shaken by tremors - far too localized to be an earthquake - shattering windows, cutting power and fouling the air even further. Some time later, only three emerged from the building: all of them, including Russo, bloodied. At this point the group split, only to gather near midnight outside RED sensation and tourist attraction Carnal Desires. One eyewitness who would identify himself only as The Moonstar, described the event thusly: "Dude. So these three dudes are there with a buggy, right, and I was coming off a righteous high, it was awesome. So all of a sudden this big dude in this fancy-ass armor with Jake logos all over it just comes right the fuck out of the sewer! He's all fuckin' covered in blood and, get this, man, this'll blow your mind - he's holding a fucking ARM man! And it wasn't even his! I mean, like, it wasn't attached to him. Maybe he bought it from that Magrah fucker on the SIC, knamean? So he straight up gives the arm to this other dude, and the other dude is like, DUDE. And that girl from channel 420? Huh-huh, she's like all helping this dude out...the armor dude, not the other dude. Then, and you'll shit a brick, dude, ANOTHER dude comes out of the sewer and then him and the Korova chick are like yeah but no but yeah but no but yeah and then they all fuckin' split. I dunno. Crazy shit. Hyeeeah. You got rolling papers?" More tips came in later that night about a battle near the abandoned church where the tremors occured, involving a short man with a sword and several members of the Arteries street gang. By the end, none of the Arteries were still standing, however the short man was reported to have fallen as well shortly after breaking his sword - but only after the gang members were out of commission. The man was then loaded into the WJF vehicle which screeched off into the nearby express tunnel. Similar reports of a man in unfamiliar WJF-imprinted armour was seen near the TRV at the time. Some witnesses believe that the man in the unidentified WJF armour was none other than Judge Patrick Murphy, a frequent sight on the streets of RED. These reports remain unconfirmed. Thus far both the Judge and Navarre Russo have not been available for comment. What happened at the church? Who were the armored men? What was Navarre Russo doing at the same abandoned church where witnesses say an xo5-armoured figure was seen fighting a man described as a "giant beast" less than ten days ago, which Russo was later seen exiting, carrying a mutilated child to the Fuller Medical clinic. Shortly after this initial incident, Globe reporters made their way to Korova, some staying for days hoping for a chance to interview Russo about the happenings, to which the Korova manager replied that a single reporter would be granted exclusive interview rights. As far as the Globe knows, this interview has yet to be conducted or granted. Continue checking the Globe, further details will be released as they are uncovered.

Big week for the WJF Fugitives captured Published 8.17.2096 by NewsDesk |
The WJF has just announced the clone death and all but confirmed the permanent death of Citizen Angus Killian, WJF most wanted number three. Three days ago, Angus Killian boldly walked right into the Hall of Justice, assumed to be high on narcotics and wired with cyberware, and commenced to slay Staff Judge candidate Patrick Murphy infront before fleeing. The WJF gave a bold chase, pulling all the stops, but Angus Killian slipped into the mix.
[full article]
The following day, The WJF hit the streets in full force, patrolling RED in mech's, AV's, cruisers, and with full TERRA cooperation. Judge Murphy, along with a few other judges, met with a confidential informant in RED sector to discuss the capture of Killian. During their meeting, Killian, piloting a popular AV used mainly for salvage work, lifted Judge Murphy's cruiser, lifting it over a hundred feet into the air before releasing it. Judge Murphy escaped the cruiser during the initial pickup, escaping near death, but his informant however would not be so lucky. Immediatly following, The WJF AV shot down Angus Killian, and proceeded to judge him on the spot. He has since failed to clone. Today, reports have come in that rookie Judge Jill Valentine has apprehended Seven Ecks, withmores most wanted fugitive. Seven Ecks is currently in custody, though no WJF officials have been able to comment. More as it comes, NLM.

Tim Jersey A change in pace? Published 8.6.2096 by NewsDesk |
Another spectacular morning in Withmore City. My morning started in no subtle fashion, as I was jolted awake by my Progia-11 dancing it's way off of my kitchen counter and smashing to the floor. My editor and chief had a mission for me, and a mission it would be. I put on my sundays best, prepared a decent breakfast, then hopped in my 2096 Holden and booked it over to the HOJ. I had to confirm the if the rumors were true. Staff Judge Pratt, head of Withmore's Street Justice division, after 20 plus years of outstanding service, has announced his plans for retirement.
[full article]
"Well, it's been a good run. I'm proud to say that I have worked with and helped develop some of withmore's finest, and in my opinion, some of the finest law enforcement officers the world over." When asked about a successor, Judge Pratt only had this to comment; "The Senior Staff Judge's are still reviewing viable candidates for the position." After the press conference, I joined up with a fellow reporter in the Black Drome bar on Fuller street in the RED sector. He worked for a private publishing, and wished to remain anonymous. We spoke of the history of the WJF, and possible heirs to the throne. After hours of debate, a clear popular vote couldn't be decided on, not as if it matters. The candidates drafted in our bar room conversation boiled down to The hardliner or The paperwork warrior. The Hardliner, as we like to refer to Senior Judge Patrick Murphy, has a notorious record for no-nonsense justice, and an impeccable service record. Most known for his feats in cleaning up the RED sector to the denizens of the upper levels, the mix sheds a different light on the Judge. "I remember when he came down here one night, ya, he thought he was some kinda army of one or something yannow? Baka came down, got scooped up by tha mix! They had him crucified on Fuller and Knife! He liked to come down here and just kill folks for fun, but the streets came up wit they own justice, dig?" -Citizen of the mix. The paperwork warrior, as he is fondly refered to by friends and enemies alike, is Senior Administrative Judge Lucas Risner, beating out close competition for the top candidate seat. Risner was widely unknown in the force when compared to Judges such as Patrick Murphy, Renegade Gerik Phillips, Medal of honor winner and deceased Carlito, and former Street Judge Kiyo Volkyre, but his contribution to the force is widely known within the walls of the HOJ. Serving 15 years, 10 of which under the direct service of Staff Judge Ranier, 4 in WJF SpecOPs division, and his most recent year in the WJF human resources division. It is widely rumored, that is was Risner who called for, and pulled the strings to have A single street judge re-assigned to be stationed in the TERRA office in RED sector. The official report is that the judge is only to act as a liason between TERRA and the WJF, and expedite punishments on criminals brought in by TERRA. Both men want to clean up the mix. Though official reviews are still going on, I for one am excited to see how it plays out. Tim Jersey, NLM news

archy. Plain and simple. That was the scene in the northeastern part of RED, at the express tube off ramp two nights ago. Members of the street gang "Sinners" had erected a barricade, effectivly stopping traffic. Stationed behind the barricade and armed with firearms, like some sort of military garrison, the Sinners were seen as a major disturbance, warranting the dispatch of three Judges to the scene. The WJF offered the Sinners a chanceto surrender, but their leader, the one known as "Chaim" started a fire fight when he opened up and fired the first shot. It was over almost a soon as it started, with the WJF Enforcer II ripping basketball sized holes in their assailants. One Judge lay bleeding, and two gang members lay dead. While a Judge attended to his comrade's wounds, the other was taken from behind by the gang member whom avoided taking any bullets. Obviously whacked out on V-202 or some other powerful stimulant, the gang member was able to drag the judge down the street, oddly eough towards Artery territory. The Judge attending to the wounds saw this, and panicked. Not knowing wether to stay and help his wounded comrade, or pursue the one bound for certain death, he chose the second, giving chase. His wounded partner shortly died at the scene. The Judge didn't make it too far. As he crossed into Artery territory, five gang members, all armed with firearms, decended on him and quickly subdued him. The Sinner whom dragged the judge off, apparently handed him over to the Arteries in a strange turn of events. The Artery street gang members handcuffed and marched the Judges down the street at gunpoint, forcing them into their run down firehouse headquarters. They soon contacted the WJF with one demand and one demand only; Judge Murphy can have them if he comes and gets them. Alone. It was an apparent trap, one The senior street judge took into account as he raced to the scene. What happened after that is pure speculation. The only facts are over fifteen dead gang members lay in the streets, the two judges in question returned to the HOJ, and a mysterious, and rather large, armored woman was seen dragging what appeared to be Judge Murphy's limp body out of Ashlin street and up to Genetek. I spoke to a survivng Artery gang member about the events, and this is what he had to say; "Yeah, we had dem bitch ass Judges all tied up an shit, just waitin on that punk Murphy. We was gonna hold up our end of tha bargain too. He jus walks in and starts swingin a katana and shit. He got blasted real quick, but then this big ol bitch came runnin in wit a foh five and laid out like six of us before we knew what was poppin off. Them Judges booked it and she ran off wit his corpse. Don't fret tho chummers, Red gonna be on Fire. TERRA next!" Judge Murphy was unavailable for comment. Is this a sign of things to come? Why are the gangs seeming to work together? Will this result in a WJF crackdown in Red? Only the next few days will tell, but the climate of the mix is hot, and angry. T. Jersey. NLM

Gang Violence engulfs Red Sector Massive firefight Published 8.7.2096 by NewsDesk |
This just in! The WJF 911 grid has been ringing non-stop for the past half hour, as reports of a massive military styled battle rages through central Red sector.
[full article]
The Sinners have been reported by eye witness account the instigators to the massive gun fight. Many of them, armed with small caliber pistols and submachine guns, as well as one with a mini gun, stormed the Snakes street gang and the Arteries in two different locations. The Snakes respoded with a volley of bullets from their own weapons, but the man wielding the mini gun made light work of them. Stray bullets were also responsible for the deaths of 15 bystanders and countless more wounded. Meanwhile, near Ashlin street, The Sinners and Arteries were seen on NLM eyepod footage, as well as captured by local security camera's, throwing multiple fragmentation, EMP, and sonic type grenades at each other, causing massive damages to the surrounding infastructure, killing three gang members, and wounding a small child. After the chaos, one lone gang member stood against his rival and a woman holding a pistol, each spraying ammunition at each other. The gang members seemed to hit each other, before fleeing in different directions. The WJF was unavailable for comment.

Withmore welcomes Tim Jersey Street Talk Published 8.1.2096 by NewsDesk |
NLM would like to introduce it's newest addition to the news team, Tim Jersey, with his premier article, "Mix life." "Mix Life."
[full article]
I'm sitting in a titty bar in the heart of Red's central district on Sinn Street, The Orifice. Drinking a watered down beer, and trying to ignore the enormous plastic milk jugs jiggling in my face, I try to fathom why I agreed to come down into this filthy palace of sin, opting not to attend the first screening of "RoboFuckers", NLM's latest hit holo-vid. The man I'm supposed to interview is late, which is typical of him from what I hear. I am uncomfortable, and feel as if the patrons, many of whom seem quite disreputable, are picking up on it. I hear the rumble of motorcycles outside, and straighten up in my seat. I figured it had to be my guest, and knew that he was nobody to take lightly. The curtains pushed aside at the entrance, and in walked, flanked on either side by his leather clad minions, the president of the Red Devils Motorcylce Club, and most wanted man by the WJF, Pistolar. Draped in all black leather himself, his "cut" (common terminology for a biker's vest) caught the attention of everyone inside, prompting them to move out of his way as he casually strolled over and plopped down in the seat opposite of myself. Without even so much as a greeting, he pulled out a small bag of white powder, dispensed it onto the table in a fine line, and inhaled it into his nose. He breathed in heavily, and straightened up in his seat as his two cronies went to the bar. It was evident all three were armed by the bulges in their clothing. "Well, you got something to ask me or what?" Was the first thing he said. We talked for what seemed like hours about himself, the club, and the Mix. As it turns out, Pistolar, AKA Mark Grey, AKA D, was not allways a member of the red citizenry. Immigrating to Withmore from Neo York in 2087, Mark Grey, a former CorpSec employee under Genetek Revival, applied for, and was denied, employment with the WJF. After weeks of struggling to stay afloat through his own private fortune, Mark landed employment with Skywatch INC as a Security specialist. "Boring, mundane. It was like being a mall cop. All I did was fuckin walk arounf Skywatch and make sure nobody was shitting in the plants." Mark was apparently unhappy with his newfound career, and quickly took on alternative activites to compensate for his lack of desire to work. It came in the form of something he would soon become himself; "Mixers". Most noteable, former NLM personality Null Void. "Null was a real peice of work. That wilson baka kept coming around Skywatch, poking his head in where it didn't belong and running his mouth. I dunno, I just had the urge to fuck him up." Mark recalls. Mark bought his first pistol in withmore, a Seburo 6mm compact, from an unmentioned source, and stashed it in his habitat-x room. He followed Null Void, watching his movements and taking note of his daily routine, and decided to strike one morning. Wearing a shroud and holding his Seburo, he attacked Mr. Void as he left his Habitat-x room, shooting him multiple times, but not resulting in Voids death. The WJF were called to the scene, and Mark Grey was confronted. "The Jakes came outta nowhere and grabbed me up, I got away and dodged a bullet from one of em, and went into the sewer line." Mark describes his escape. For the next few weeks, he would live in hideing, not knowing what was going to happen to him. "There were alot of people lookin for me, so the best thing I could think of was facial reconstruction surgery. Shitty thing though, I miss my old face." Grey was able to get a backroom face lift applied in a dingy clinic in the mix. During his recovery time, he practiced a Russian accent, and with cybernetic aids, perfected the language. "I came back to the mix sometime in 2088, new face. New Name. Nobody could pronounce it, so they just called me D." Under his new alias, D took the streets. He had an intricate knowledge in weapons and hand to hand combat, and used these skills to muscle his way into the black market. He befriended the now imprisoned Aikon Adov, and together they started the Southside Connection on Ashlin street. "Those were rough days. We had to pay the Arteries money not to trash our shit, and dodge those fuckin punks Ecks and Aikao." The Store yielded some success, however, and quickly became the main competition to the Dark Shop, located in Bansuporo Park, and claimed to be owned by none other then the self proclaimed "King of Fuller" Seven Ecks. The men waged a bloody battle, and when the smoke cleared, D had skipped town back to Neo York. "Me and Aikon got into it over the war with Seven. I wanted to take it in one direction, he wanted to go another way. So, I killed him, took the chy, and planted some lame rumor that he permed me. I hopped a flight back to Neo York." He claims his next year back in his hometown was a blank to him, and not important. I took the hint, and proceeded with the interview. "I came back around 2089,2090...something like that. It all mixes together now...anyways, I was lookin to get back in the biz.." It was reported that former leader of the Snakes, Seven Ecks, had been captured by the WJF, and through behavior control technology, forced him to become a Judge. Seven Ecks got wind of D's return to Withmore, and activly pursued him on the streets of Red. "He came at me with a revolver, which made me think it was Ecks fuckin around in Judge armor. I didn't believe he was a Judge at first. I had a glock on me, and I turned him into swiss cheese and stole his WJF shit. The badge had his fuckin name on it, I didn't notice that at first." After the incident, the Snakes approached D, and crowned him the new King Snake, in honor of his defeat of the former leader. The next year is a haze to him, as he developed an addiction to V-202, mrc, and dezraldin. Through third parties, I gathered that D was unfit to run a daycare, let alone a street gang, as he used the gang not to further their ambitions and meet their needs, but his own. "That baka never once kicked us down any chy, mang! Punk ass kept it all for himself, when we did all tha work!" Quoted from a former member of the Snakes. Eventually, NLM employee, Angus "Killian" Rez, would go to set up D on live TV to be captured and frozen by the WJF. Five judges, multiple Agents, and the reported assistance of Ecks himself led to the capture of D, aka Mark Grey, where he was sentenced to 15 years cryogenic rehab. "Ahh, yeah, but that wouldn't hold me long. They pulled me out of the freezer a year and some change into it. They had some questions regarding a former judge, Kiyo Volkyre. Anyways, I dunno, something came over me. I was in the hearing, and then I snapped and Killed two chummers and stole a field explorer." While the WJF were not available to confirm or deny this story, NLM did have footage of Mark Grey speeding down the main drag of highway outside the gates, slamming through them and ultimatly wrecking the vehicle. "Once I got back to biz, I went right for that punk ass cane...Rez..." battles were fought in the streets, with D initially loseing them all. "I was on ice for a hot second, chummer, and he was chromed up. You do the math." After teaming up with a former business associate and gun for hire, D gunned down Rez outside his business, Street Heat automotives, and reportedly had his cyberware implanted in himself. For the next few weeks D would kill Rez at every turn, forcing Rez into hideing. "I got bored with that baka. He had more money then god, and would just re-clone and hide. I found a new plaything though..." That plaything would be NLM fame Aurelie Claudell, former Fiance and bodyguard to NLM star Juicy Vee. After shooting Juicy on Gold, causing the cancellation of a concert, Juicy and Aurelie were signed to host a reality show in the Mix. During this time, they put a 100,000 chyen bounty on D. The end result was not what they expected. D relentlessy hunted them down, killing Juicy multiple times, even going so far as to kidnap and torture Aurelie Claudell's father, causing him to die in the care of the WJF. It is rumored Seven Ecks, no longer under the employ of the WJF, brokered the release. It was too little too late, though. "Later that month, it was weird really, but she hired me to kidnap her. I was skeptical, but chy is chy." D took her outside the domed walls of Withmore, and headed for a small settlement known as San Mara. "Mara is a small little shit hole out in the badlands, we get out there, and well, she kinda pissed me off somehow. I sold her to the guy who runs the gunstore for 50k." Aurelie's owner would not keep her for long, as Seven Ecks, known visitor to San Mara, bought her the next day. "I came back into town, and was sittin in the drome, checkin the SIC, when I see her pop up on the net. I was like....shit.." Aurelie would be granted freedom later on, but that detail would not be divulged by D. It was around this time that D bought his first motorcycle, a Hondamitsu Katana 600, and along with his friend and former fuller med cyberdoc William Demming, formed the Red Devils motorcycle club. "Me an Doc were recruitin chummers to ride with us. I had friends in the AB, and they supplied me with shit, and Doc used to cook a mean batch of V-202. We started biz that way." But Biz would be noticed by the corporate sector. Former CEO of Ambrosia Pharmacuticals, Rodric Ditrich, took notice to the clubs drug business, and wanted it stomped out immediatly. After a failed negotiation attempt, the pair stole an ambulance from fuller med, and lured Rodric into the back of it, where they strapped her down and tortured her. "We B-lined it straight for the gate after we had her strapped in. Kept yellin viva Las Vegas...heh. I knew after she showed back up in town a few days later cryin to the WJF that I was fucked." She escaped somehow, after being carved up and tattooed by the duo. She was forced to bare a Swastika on her forehead and male genitalia on her arm. The WJF acted swiftly, raiding his Sinn Street apartment and forcing him into hideing. "Not alot of chummers knew it, but that crazy bitch Aurelie wanted my dick. I shacked up with her, and I took off to San Mara. I brokered a deal that I would stay outside, if Rodric let it go and called off her corpsec dogs." Rodric would dissapear shortly afterwards. Grey describes his next few months again, in error I suspect, as "A drug enduced haze and I can't recall. I stayed out there for awhile, got bored, and came back. End of story. He refused to comment on the current statis of Miss Claudell, and his current plans for the future, but whem prompted on Seven Ecks and Angus Killian, all he could muster was "Fuck em. Pussies." He seemed agitated, and knocked my beer from the table. Many patrons glanced over, but quickly turned away. He demanded I pay him 25,000chyen for the interview, of which I origionally agreed to, and only possessed 5,000. I surrendered the chyen, but was still taken outside at gunpoint. Fearing for my life, I called for help. One biker delivered a knee to my groind, sending me sprawling to the ground, while another, in a drunken stupor I assume, fired a round from his pistol at me, which narrowly missed my skull. Pistolar called them off, and they hopped on their bikes, speeding away down Sinn Street. What went wrong? One second I was drinking with Red's most wanted gangster, and the next he was going batshit crazy and assualting me, threatening my life. It hit me there, that such was a daily way of life in withmores underbelly of crime and corruption. Instability is the norm, fuled by narcotics and greed. And this is how it allways was, according to Staff Judge Pratt, head of Withmore's Street Justice Division. "The mix has allways been a hotbed of crime. We have by far the most violent and repulsive criminals the world over. And it isn't just Mark Grey, before him, Seven Ecks was at his peak. And before that, Aikao. And those are just example off the top of my head. Fortunatly, through the work of our men and women in the black and chrome, and our people in TERRA, we've been able to put a muzzle on the violence and restrict it to RED." Tim Jersey, NLM news.
