Saedor Krupp is proud to release its third generation thought receiver chip. Freshly declassified from military applications, this refined version avoids most of the nasty side effects the previous generations were rumored to suffer from. Implanted near the required Neural Processor, this chip constantly monitors the electromagnetic field around the user in order to detect the minute fluctuations caused by the overt thought processes of those nearby.
Overt thoughts will include whatever someone is focusing their thoughts on. They can actively think about something or send a message over the SIC network and those thoughts can be received. Practiced users even report being able to tell when there are more people around than they see just by detecting the presence of their thoughts, even if they can't see the actual thoughts.
Please note that the chip has a limited capacity and can be easily overwhelmed in crowded situations. The first and second generation chips are still considered classified for military applications only and possession or implanting them is a crime under the Withmore Code of Military Justice
