Referencing WWII too much

I know WWII is a big thing in history, but because it happened so long ago from Withmore's view, why not use a more recent instance of genocide for your roleplay? Consider referencing the Latin Trade Collective stuff (check out the lore page for that) instead. It's themely, and won't cause there to be people itching to have political discussions ooc'ly.

I hope this is helpful!

Here's the text from the lore for those who can't find the reference:

"When the Latin Trade Collective began purging augmented humans involved in its genetic augmentation programs due to global pressures in 2079, many of them came to Withmore in hopes of finding refuge. Hundreds of thousands of immigrants flooded the city's main gates, moving into the city's Red Sector and making the already overcrowded sector even more of a sardine can. It's due to this massive level of overcrowding that in 2080, the city closed its doors to 99% of the world's immigrants."

Indeed
Honestly the only thing that holds me back from referencing stuff like the events above is my pretty dismal lore knowledge, pretty sure that's why WWII comes up more often in general as opposed to more themely historical events.

Let's talk about that one time a megacorporation invaded sovereign Russian territory and got away with it.
@Constantdisplay: Check out the paragraph I posted in this thread about the Latin Trade Collective. They killed genetically augmented people, a genocide based on splicing. Suuuuper themely and deals with class divide as it is. It's pretty easy, even if you get it wrong, someone will guide you with the right lore facts. You can always shrug off a lack of exact knowledge by saying "I dunno chum, I don't watch those history channels all the damn time."
I found a more on-the-nose thing to reference.

"2043.2 The New Prussian Empire makes a series of military moves in Eastern Europe, taking the nations of Poland, Denmark, and large parts of Sweden and Norway in a series of military moves that remind the world of events in the region a century earlier. Cut off and surrounded, the New German Republic's corporate government makes a series of economic and political moves that bring to bear the massive force of over half a dozen transnational security forces. The New Prussian Empire is forced to give up land in Denmark, and agrees to cease hostilities in Europe for a termed contract of 35 years. "
