Gate Entry/Exit effecting Cap

Paying money to enter and exit the gate to the city should be contributed towards the 'weekly cap' like Rent or buying things.
Smuggling is a very real and important gig. It's poorly incentivized economically and I think this would just make it worse, honestly.
Gate entry and exit fees don't really pertain to automated income, insofar that there's nothing stopping you from making money in Withmore in the first place. Gate fees aren't like drug costs that might cut into your earnings, or anything like that.

However, I'd be interested to see some jobs get entry fee related perks, on a slightly off topic.

I could see certain jobs POSSIBLY get access to discounts or waived fees if they don't already, but certainly not across the board or having it added back to the weekly cap.

Going to the badlands is optional, is not the mainstay of the game or its RP environment, and is not a detrimental facet of gameplay or surviving in Withmore (as apartments are). I feel there are a lot of reasons to have the fees in the first place, but one reason I like it is that it disincentivizes excessive trips unless you can afford it. IMO that's a good thing since RP is primarily inside the gates by design.

In any case, I don't think it's a good idea to start looking at every money spending thing in the game as crippling and ask it to be added back to the weekly cap. Apartments are a must-have for most people. Pretty much nothing else is.

Agree with Ratchet here, I originally requested for the change to apartments mainly because it is extremely difficult, if not even impossible for people to live without them without all the proper knowledge.
I don't think this is something we're going to do. The cost of entering/exiting the city is already factored into pay rates for jobs, and there are roles that get in and out for free.
You all have excellent points. I have nothing further to add or any arguments against.
Gate fees definitely hurt for players in certain roles when they're relatively new, because the ways to offset them (or why the fees exist at all) are not obvious. A lot of my own economic planning at one point involved thinking about how to spread the cost of them out as much as possible, after which they stop mattering as much.

One of those things where if it was easy, anyone could do it, but I am sympathetic to people trying to figure out the economics because it's not new character friendly.
