The problem is, as Bixby pointed out, 'search' means different things in different RP situtations.
It is at the very least, noticible and disruptive to other people, and at it's extreme, 'turning the room upside down'.
But putting that into the message is problematic, for exactly that reason: It's not always realistic to turn the present room upside down. In the middle of the desert, it would probablly mean getting on your hands and knees and sifting through the sand. In a bar, it would mean looking closely at people, looking under tables and in dark corners, etc. In your messy cube it would mean tearing through your pile of dirty clothes.
It's left purposefully vauge to support all forms of RP: The actual actions of the searcher is a matter of interpretation, guided by the tennant that it's the equlivent of 'turning the room upside down', or some other equally disruptive action.
Perhaps you might suggest a better message, keeping the above in mind?
