UMC, or Ultimate Mixer Championship, is the mixed martial arts events of Withmore City. UMC produces events that showcase three weight divisions and abide by these simple rules:
Prior to the existence of UMC there were several gatherings of unarmed and armed combat in the Red Sector. The most known was the infamous Friday Nights Fist Fights created by Nicadeamus Frasier and held in a fenced vacant lot. Years after these gatherings lost traction and the rights for FNFF went to Navarre Russo, they were acquired by Lou Soares, a entrepreneur working with the Nice Dreams Vending Machines. With sponsorship from both Fuller Med and Nice Dreams, Lou created UMC.
To generate the rankings and find out who the Ultimate Mixer was, UMC held a championship with 2 ranks: Semi-Professional and Professional.
These made an 8 fighter bracket with fights being transmitted live on NLM. Each belt held a 40k chyen prize and the winners where Donal (Professional) and Uric (Semi-professional)
After the first championship, a ladder of ranked fighters was kept. And any new fighter would need to fight their way to the top. This is how the fights are held today with 3 ranks: semi-professional, professional and master.
Pride fights are the recurring events of UMC where fighters get to try and climb in their ranks. An announcement is put on the Grid about the next event and the fighters can challenge anyone up two steps from them on their rank.
Any person can get ranked by Mestre Bimba at The Edge on Knife Street where the events are held. Bimba will put the person on a rank more adequate for their skill.
