Creating stuff...

Ok… Total newbie question... How does one create anything? Where do I buy the materials?

Clothing used to be the only object players could 'make' but now even that has been changed. Only certain players are able to make items of clothing, such as Tash. These are made out of materials, but since the material system was recently thrown out and started over, we aren't really supposed to be using them anymore.  People would use materials to make virtually any item.  Materials are the only way for players to make things, and there are still some lying around, usually disguised as other things.  They were used to write notes as well as many other useless personal items.

Use of materials is discussed in help under clothing. However, we are now encouraged to sell back stray materials that we find.  Any objects that would require additional coding besides the basic functions of materials, which accommodate for worn and item descriptions, coverage, and tease, cannot be player created.

In order to successfully carry out your map idea, you'll need to go through the admins. And, it seems as if the admins/GMs are in disagreement on this topic so you'll probably have to wait for Johnny to talk to you about the final ultimatum.  Anyway, hope that answers your question.

Actually Ty, you're also wrong.

Players cannot gain material anymore. In fact, it may have been that editting it has been disabled.

Only tailors may create and edit clothing. If you have a specific item you want to 'aquire' for RP, you can ask NPCs or tailors. Who knows, maybe you can grab some things, eh?
