A chance for chrome in a corpse to be ruined when being taken from it, to encourage people to keep their victims alive for their ripping shenanigans.

Perhaps, even, the chance could be mitigated by someone pulling the chrome from the corpse having biotech skill? But I would still say that ripping from a living person would be the ideal situation to harvest the chrome.
