Expand Munitions Table Ammo
Many sons, and many guns

As it stands now, the munitions table is extraordinarily limited to baseline ammo which has negligible costs and really doesn't offer much in the way of fiscal award to those who invest in the skill as opposed to chemistry - which has a very powerful economical workflow.

I believe expanding munitions tables for highly skilled users to be able to product vehicle weapon ammunition which is notably expensive would be a boon for the game.

Would it result in an uptick of vehicle combat? Quite possibly, but that would also mean more work for mechanics, and ultimately less chyen going to NPC vendors and more chyen changing hands between players.

(I do suspect this has been brought up before but I couldn't find an appropriate thread)

I'd completely forgotten that had fallen by the wayside, completely agree with the rationale and it's a good shout. Even if munitions and explosives got folded into one another they'd still be a niche pick compared to chemistry. Even just starting with the three smallest gun calibers and smallest rocket size would put like 99% of the player usage into PC production hands.
Considering there's vehicle ammo which is just "normal gun ammo in a bigger box" I really don't think there's a fluff explanation to not do this. As for the mechanical side; yeah, it's just more profitable to make candy than to make ammo.
