Gender messages for clothing

So as usual I'm sitting there IC making clothes and the idea strikes me that it would be so much easier for both the tailors and the consumers if you could set messages for what the clothing looks like when a man wears it and when a woman wears it.

We set our gender when we start playing the game so maybe there is a way that clothing can go one further and recognised our gender from maybe @female and @male messages added to it.

Then each piece of clothing could be purchased by either sex. It would be easier to shop for a pair of jeans or a t-shirt or a shirt because it would always have messages for either sex.

Granted some things are obvious like skirts and bras, but you might get some guys wanting to wear them. Disguise maybe or just fetishists.

So yeah….I say please, pretty please with a cherry on top can we have those kinds of messages for clothing added.

I have to say… I like that idea. A seperate worn_male_msg and worn_female_msg would be something worthwhile.
I like the idea but it seems a bit overkill.

Really you should just cover that in the descrip.  There a few items that are Unisex…but most wouldn't matter.  I mean IRL men where womens clothing...IC people have worn womens clothing so it would be cool...Like in a T Jane's cleavage would be visible, and if a JOe wore the t, his cleavage would too...it's off...but Joe Smoe shouldn't be wearing womens clothing should he?

That's the whole point I was trying to make. You _can't_ always tell if the clothes are for a man or a woman.

Yes, as a tailor, I could describe each individual item as a pair of men's jeans or a women's t-shirt, but if there were messages for gender then each item of clothing could be worn by either sex, even dresses and skirts should they be inclined.

If you think about it gender is already coded into wearing clothing. If I write the message as:
@wear jeans is %N pulls on %p %t and zips them up. it comes across as Dom pulls on his pair of jeans and zips them up or Desolate pulls on her pair of jeans and zips them up. So it takes that %p and using the gender you chose for your character in chargen decides whether that %p is a his or her and I think in the future an it's.

Creating gender specific messages isn't much of a big leap and that way you'll always know that no matter which t-shirt you pull off the rack or pair of jeans from the display you're going to get one intended for your gender.

Make sense?

I understand, and I'm not sayin it's a bad idea at all.  I like the idea, but my gut said it's target audience is pretty low.  I mean I've had that problem, but it's a rare occurance.  BUt since you are the tailor, I'd say you should get that choice..

As for racks…. l # in [storage thingy]

l 2 in rack that will display the item you wanna buy
