Make gang rep affect their cash flow
First you get the money, then you get the power

I'm not 100% sure how corp share works, but based on my understanding of it, I think the gangs should have a similar system that works off of rep and cash flow.

As it stands now, the gangs function as an economy drip feed for a lot of players. You bring them goods, they give you cash, you move on. The amount of cash you get is based on your rep with that particular gang, but they themselves always have the cash and never mind shelling it out for what they need.

The idea for this system is that the gang itself would have more or less cash (and lower or higher payouts) based on their rep in the Mix. Let's say they have a collective bank of 50k for the week (random not thought-out number at all) to hand out. If they get rolled by a neighboring gang and lose half their gear and four of their members are stuck in Chow's for three days not hustling? That dips to 40k.

Did a pledge just come home with some fat tax and give half to the King? The bank goes up!

Then, when individuals go to NPCs to ask what they need, they might get a higher payout based on the gang itself doing better, or a worse one if they're hurting. Or if they're in really dire straights, the NPC might say, "Shit, sorry choom, I'm flat broke." and hand the goods back…or steal it...probably steal it.

Things that could affect the gang's street bank positively could be:
New pledge
New blood
New LT (big boost)
PC gang member knocks out other gang member/TERRA
PC gang pulls off a job topside and reps the gang
PC gang member collects a tax and shares it with the gang

Things that could negatively shift would be:
Blooded gang member gets kicked out because of Code breaking
LT/King gets KO'd and it gets shouted about on SIC
An on-turf, gang-protected business gets firebombed/robbed
Gang member left in an ER for longer than (insert reasonable days here)

This would not only give pledges/gangers more incentive to be out getting that rep up, but it would also engage the rest of the population with a particular gang. You live on Art turf? Deal mostly with the Arts daily? You want them doing better and want other gangs doing worse!

Should have a turf-rep system that can change hands in disputed areas that net pc gangers a slight payout for the week depending on who is holding what where.
I'd enjoy working a system like this, but the implementation sounds like it could be a burden on the staff. Unless it can be easily automated, but a lot of these situations sound a bit rough with that idea.

Still, all for it, but mercy be upon the staff.

it sounds hard to implement but idk anything abt code so dont take my word for anything. i think this would make people focus on selling to gangers where they live which is cool, makes sense too immersion-wise. i like the community engagement, need more of it in the mix.
I assumed it already did. I thought that was why gangers are always competing over turf. Seems like something that should happen, for sure.
