So, here is my idea:
A reload verb, which would reload a firearm in your hand with readily available ammo.
Twinkish? Like that it is yes - but there's more!
Notice the readily available bit - some might think that this would mean any clip on your person? BZZ. Wrong.
This would mean either a clip in your other hand, OR from an ammunition belt. After all, looking around in your pockets for a clip takes time.
Still twinkish? Ohhh, yeah.
But there's still more!
Success would depend on the firearm skill involved!
In normal circumstances, anyone could do it - no pressure. But in combat, skill penalties would apply, from not only the pressure and the adrenaline rush, but also the pain from wounds. So there could be some interesting fumbles, like the poor sap releasing the clip from his weapon (which would fall to the ground in any case) and dropping the fresh clip also (OOPS). Or the fellow forgetting to press the release and ending up looking like a moron, trying to stuff the fresh clip in while the empty (or half- empty) is still in the weapon. Or turning on the safety while pressing the clip release (assuming, of course, that SinDome's HK P7's have that nifty squeeze-safety lock like today's).
Yeah, so that was my idea.
