Run Run as fast as you can!

I noticed the other night while running around like a madwoman that I couldn't get my character to go any faster than a walk. Yes, I can pose running, but that doesn't help the fact that you still don't get there any faster than walking.

I want to be able to zoom around the Dome!

Did you try takeing 7 hits of V–202?

*evil grin*

I disagree completely.

If your making it from one side of the city block to the other in 30 seconds, your running.

Want to walk? Don't type in your direction commands so fast.

-Kevlar

It would be cool to be able to run as fast as you can but I also think that maybe if you were to be in a fight and were losing something horrible and ran thatn you would be tempted to run when in real life your wounds would slow you down to the point of almost a crawl.  I know that Kevlar has told me that he wants people to RP being hurt when they run from something but I know that I would be tempted to run it to save my neck so I guess int eh end I vote nay.

That's been coded and in effect for a while now. Try having a race sometime with someone who's seriously injured and who's endurance isn't that hot.

I gaurentee you'll win.

-Kevlar

Yeah I wouldnt know that was in affect I dont fight. :(

This makes sense, but if this is the case, there should be a "walking" equivalent to the "go" command.  I like using go when I just want to get somewhere, but sometimes it would not be IC for me to "run" where I want to go.

Just a thought.

That makes sense, but there should be a walking equivelant to the go command.  I like to use go when I want to get somewhere specific, but it is sometimes not IC for me to run there.

I'm not sure what your using as a MOO Client, but some clients you can use the number pad (on the right side of the keyboard) to move.  4 = west 8 = north 9 = northeast, etc.  You just have to have it enabled and the numlock on.  It's how I move about slowly, or even quickly, if I need.
n8n, we are not going to code ways for you to do things that you can do without us having to code a new feature.

It is easy. If you are walking, do not use the go command. Type in the room moves manually.

Example:

You are on Fuller outside the New Rose Hotel. You want to go to Surplus and Shit Outfitters, but are in no real rush.

Type the following:

go east

(yes, write out the whole direction, it will slow you down as you hit those few extra keys.)

you walk east and stop.

Read the description of the room.

type the following:

go east

<repeat until location is reached>

Tadaaa! You are moving at a walking pace! And, as an added bonus, you get the joy of reading the words that people like myself have spent hours crafting. You may even find a TYPO and SUBMIT it and HELP the game!

Don't forget that when you don't use a 'go' string, should you stumble upon some RP, you can react without having to type 'stop walking'.

How many times do you guys run past each other? :)

I bet its a lot until you learned to type 'stop walking' real fast.

Sometimes you type stop walking, though, and you end up moving anyways. ;-)
Ha ha!  Thats the best.  Typing go e, stop walking go s.  And you magicaly go east, then two seconds later it moves you too go s spot.
I'll take how does a twink lose a tail for 500, Alex.
