Okay, so if you are hiding and you search, you automatically unhide before you can search. This just doesn't make sense to me. You're out of the way, but you can still see everything that is going on and should be able to scan the area.

Can you see hidden objects from a single point in the room? Can a camera, placed at any random location, see all the objects in the room? The obscured and covered one?
No. It takes a little moving around and moving of things and viewing things from different angles to locate items that are hidden.
Wouldn't you agree?

I guess you have a point. You always have a point, damn you.

Yeah, he's usually like that ... ;)

Besides, if you could find things while hidden, thermo would lose a lot of it's appeal.

yeah.. i used to think "hey! i wanna still be hidden when searching!" then it struck me that that was silly... plus someone told me it was silly. thank you someone.
*pets the thermo*

Wait, thermo's are working?
By Nicadeamus at Jan 11, 2003 5:01 PM
Uhhh.. Yup.
Unless someone changed it...
In fact at one point Johnny and I changed it so it was accualy useful instead of just being a minor helper.

Thermo rocks. Between thermo and flares, I wouldn't even carry a flashlight anymore if it wasn't so fun to hit people and rats with it.
By Murphy at Jan 11, 2003 8:30 PM
it doesn't matter what else i have in hand, or wich hand... i always end up hitting the rats with the flashlight.
By Bias at Jan 11, 2003 9:09 PM
Either your character is possessed by the flashlight spirits, or you neglect the handy dandy 'switchto' command.
By Murphy at Jan 11, 2003 9:16 PM
goody, another command i didn't know about. gota love it.
By Bias at Jan 16, 2003 10:13 AM
Yeah there's a lot of those....wish I knew half of 'em.
By Molochai at Jan 16, 2003 11:17 AM
It's all about knowing the commands you don't know.
*blinks*
Yeah.
In your spare moments, I suggest everyone types 'exam me'
WOW! Lookit all those things scrolling up da screen!
exam is your ultimate bestest buddy! Next to, of course, your shitty rusted up Ruger.

Or, when you're sitting around and don't feel like making the effort of finding some RP, then you could keep typing help <something> until an admin asks you what the hell you're doing.
And read old posts in the in-game help board.
