Serial Numbers On Cars

I think cars should have serial numbers or maybe some kind of identifying chip. Discuss?
I mentioned License plates a long time ago. Seems the only way to get them is to put them in the description of the customizations when you initially purchase your vehicle.
I like the liscense plate idea, but that doesn't seem too high-tech.  Least not in cp standards.  A chip though, sounds pretty nifty.  But both are ideas I support.
Someone pointed out that it would probably help if the color of the vehicle were in the name,  Like, a red Hondamitsu Koi is sitting here….

Sure its not quite realistic that we'd be tracking vehicles soley by their color, but we could always pretend we're looking at the license plates.

when i mentioned license plates I was thinking a little flatscreen on the rear bumper with a digital read out in a custom pretty color but still adhering to withmores department of motor vehicle identification standards or whatnot. License plates are world-wide and can be identified by anyone. and, if you know a good mechanic, you can pay them to hack your cars hard drive and change the digital read out when you use the car on a bank job!
I don't think color should be identified in a standard title of a vehicle. Its bad enough 9/10 if you see a car roaming around anywhere in the city, you know who owns it and whose driving it…inherently.

I like the digital read out idea. Honestly, I think anything that uses the otherwise UNUSED skills out there is good. Very good.
