I was thinking, which I don't do a whole lot, but I was thinking about how it would be pretty cool to be able to get tattoos. Like to be able to go to a tattoo parlor and pay and get a tattoo done.

Why not just pay some player 'tattoo artist' icly to write a tattoo into one of your @nakeds, that you can then apply yourself?
For instance, you'd give the layer the text of your arm @naked and pay him ICly for, say, a Flaming Rabbit Head tattoo, he or she'd write it in, RPing ICLY with a tattoo needle made out of a material, the give you the text and you just put it in your @naked yourself.

Or something.

Tattoo properties are already defined on players and the code that generates a players description when you look at them is already fully set up to display tattoo's on uncovered body locations in exactly the same way as your nakeds work.

All that isn't coded is any way to -set- the tattoo messages on a player. Nice simple project for someone, code a tattoo gun. ;)

Uhm, yes there is. Lucien has been RPing as a amature tattoo artist for a while now.. He simply needs to advertise.

Whoa i didn't know that.   And as for the nakeds thing, here's another way to make a tattoo.  Just make one out of material and when the person gets it just set the coverage to where he/she wants it, sell em the "tattoo" and they put it on.  Only problem is that if you die you lose the tattoo.

Yeah, but that would hide the entire location, so if you hand a tattoo on your hand, well, it'd hide your hand @naked if you have one.

Fer now the best thing to do is

@naked <location> is "On %N's shoulder is a tattoo of a large rock figure. The rock person is sitting with his legs crossed and his arms resting on his legs. Beneath the figure in soft grey lettering is [ STONEMONK ].

done and done. Get updated then you don't have to RP it getting uncloned.

Then when tattoo guns come you will have to PAY to get em removed too…

If you died, your tattoo would be lost anyway. That makes sense, because a tattoo isn't genetic so a clone wouldn't have it.  A tattoo is something you've added to your body - not something that comes with it.
