Secondly, yes to an extent admin are not bound by the same rules of play as PCs or Admin Alts are. I don't think it's right to be spamming people, but we're staff here. We get to go to the 'employee only lounge' and steal goodies from the consession stands, etc.
As for not having the time to help you there are times when admin are Idle. We do have lives too. We cannot always be here to field every question immediately. If you xhelp and there's no response it's because no one is there to watch their screens.
Hope your day goes better

Once the pickpocket command is recoded (I hope soon Rastus) the *coughs* 'Fuck Off' will be removed.
I would of just made it say 'I don't understand that.' but Rastus has more of a sense of humour than myself.
*eyes* I used the 'our' instead of 'or' … oh god, I'm converting.
You're totally right in being a bit miffed, but it's not directed at you. So please feel better and move on within' the game.
Danke
From what I've been able to gather, some loser logged on to Sindome, probably expecting a MUD or something. We had to reprimand him a couple of times but it quickly became apparent he was going to have more fun fucking with us than he ever intended to have playing them game. Shortly after that another one arrived, and another, and another… We know they're all friends, they've admitted to that. Most of them have never played a M* before (or so they say). Apparently they all hang out on the same IRC channel somewhere and have decided their entertainment for this week/month/year is going to be fucking up the game I spend most of my life working on.
Last count there was perhaps 7 or 8 of them. Between them they've had something like 40 characters in the past 4 days. Most of them have dynamic IP addresses. The only way to prevent them playing would be to blanket blacklist every connection from their ISP, meaning we'd end up blacklisting 4 or 5 whole ISP's. Alternatively we could lock the MOO so you can't register for a character from freemail email addresses or ISPs that offer multiple email addresses to their customers, thus restricting all people to one registration and allowing us to @toad the offenders without them being able to reregister in minutes. Both would potentially prevent thousands of people from playing Sindome...
But I digress...
The patch to pickpocket was my final message to the group of players that have driven me away from the game I love. I'm tired of dealing with them, I won't further damage the game to prevent their actions, I won't waste my time searching for and locking down every single little abuse opening because a group of players refuse to listen to admin and deliberately set out to disrupt and defile the game. I'm done.
I shall return. That much is fairly likely. Could be next week, could be next month, could be next year. I don't know, whenever I feel the urge to be creative again. Whenever it becomes fun again and whenever the player base once more is made up of a majority of people who are out to have fun and constructively RP.
For the last week, under the constant abuse bombardment, every urge I have had has been potentially bad for the game. On more than one occasion I've been -very- close to simply shutting down the game altogether. I've pondered and half formulated far worse 'patches' than the one I applied to pickpocket... Any or all of these -could- have lost me my admin status altogether. As it stands I've no doubt Johnny has some things to say to me about the pickpocket patch...
They win.
