As I see more and more people are jumping on the bus of cool leet speak and the adding of a '0r' randomly to verbs, substantives and etc…
Will this become the MixMash as we know it?

speaking of leet, you should see this paper that lena wrote… it's insane..
she turned it in to a teacher at school, it was a project that dealt with clockwork orange...
anyway if i can get her permission, i'll post it since she's in bootcamp for another week i think...
oh and my most hated 0r word is h4x0r... when used as "1 w1ll h4x0r y0u." no you wont...

Umm…
Seeing as how these things are usually only written, and not spoken, I suspect Ebonics has a better chance than Leet Speak. Or ending everything with 'izzle', like for shizzle, my nizzle.
And as for 'jumping on the cool bus': I can give you examples from my BBS days back in '84 when this actualy WAS cool. It was the in thing for boards to do with their menuing and stuff.
It had fallen out of popularity by '87, and became the disguinshing mark of a newbie because all he knew were the old boards which still sported that style.
You see, there really was a time when it was cool to do it, and a time when clueless newbs really did use it, before it became passee.
The fact that it's still around and being reborn in different forms dosn't make it any more cool or likely to become a spoken language. It's just a permanant staple of our culture.... kinda like pet rocks, expensive low quality food, Mr. Potato Heads, George Bush (pick a clone... any clone), Apple Pie, etc.

i lub j00 Mr. potato heed!
spanglish is a good contender as well, a friend of mine is doing 'teach for america' in texas about 15 minutes from the border and she's always telling me about the interesting mix of languages, english, spanish, slangs from both and what really struck me, pop culture.
pushar/puscando - push
no me pinochiandess! - don't lie to me. this one's quite clever if you think about it.
oh and,
pepsindar.
specifically,
to drink a pop, -any- pop. of course… pop itself is a localized word. :P
the thing is. the kids in her classes know how to speak "correct" spanish and some even know how to speak "correct" english. when forced, they write in a grammatically correct way. it's the spoken language that's being transformed a lot quicker then the written versions.
i've always pictured mixmash as something like that, a combination of evolved slangs, spanish/english (just because of the setting)or ebonics.

with the cyberpunk trademark mixing of eastern and western cultures (specifically japanese), this may be an option as well:

Or maybe not. Its at least funny.

engrish.com has been a source of inspiration for things in the game.
Cup-O-Joy for instance.

I saw MixMash as a slanged up pidgin I think, with CP settings often being so multi-cultural and with an uneducated populace.
'mano face wide kaboom kinder killinga augen flash'
wide faced man's bomb killed children, causing his eyes to flash
*restrains himself to not type more bollocks*
Erm, yeah. :)
