Help me think of key words to advertise on so we can help new players find their way to our world.
Words we currently use:
- cyberpunk
- online roleplaying
Please help give me new ideas here :)
When I found SD, I simply typed in 'Cyberpunk' and flipped through till I found it. Alternately, adding words like 'game' and 'roleplaying', 'rpg', 'MOO'.
Once I was looking for a grim, gritty UO player-run shard to play on, and my mind automatically made the association to the WarHammer world, so I used that in my query. So, naming similar worlds/games as SD could help. Shadowrun (minus the androgynous vulcan wannabes and magical twinklefaeries), Cyberpunk 2020, maybe throw in some well-known cyberpunk PC/console games which you guys feel SD's setting approaches.
I have to agree with what Murphy says.
using key words that are associated to the theme should work well.
In addition, if you wanted to do some 'direct' advertising, look for cyberpunk web rings, message boards and such, and post to any boards frequented by those folks.
This is a quick search of cyberpunk + "web ring" on google. �It shows about 650 sites
There is also The cyberpunk top 100 sites which will let you add a site (it's only up to 57) and even categorize it as an RPG.

I've directed a few people here, but often enough they'll look at the web who list and see three people online and decide it's not worth the trouble - when in reality there are 15-20, most of them on @invis.
I was thinking it'd help get more players on if the web @who list would display not only the names and idle times of those who are not @invis, but would also show the true number of online players.
since the @who is being talked about in 'ideas' as well� this is related�
clicking on the �who list� from the web gives off the impression that sometimes, there are tumbleweeds blowing about the MOO.

Max, nice work. You should be in advertisement!
Do a search for 'free' on google. Tell me how the fuck you expect to find SD in that. If going to make suggestions, don't make them off the top of your head with no thought. Show me you care and your not just filling your time with an empty post because your bored.
