PDS and pubsic.
PDS and PubSic Integration

Psychophysical Disassociation Syndrome (PDS) outbreaks currently compel characters to behave in unusual and often disruptive ways, which adds strong thematic flavor to the game. To further enhance this system, it could be valuable to extend these effects into the public Secure Identification Chip Network through intermittent, involuntary thought projections.

Introducing occasional, PDS-induced messages into PubSic, similar in spirit to overdose-related broadcasts would reinforce the sense of psychological instability while enriching the shared narrative space. These messages could be used more sparingly compared to standard PDS symptoms, ensuring they remain impactful and do not overwhelm regular communication.

This addition would deepen immersion, provide more dynamic SIC chatter, and create new opportunities for emergent roleplay without significantly increasing noise and/or disruption.

Thoughts on this?

I'm personally not really a big fan of the "forced reactions" that PDS does. I think it'd be a lot more interesting if PDS gave thoughts and feelings to act on as hooks, but forced messages have always felt kind of tacky and in quite a while of being here I don't think I've ever seen anybody really seriously engage with them beyond an obvious expression of "oh you've got the fleshitis".

I think it'd be super neat if interacting with SIC kind of gave you extra baseline messages to suggest how PDS might be warping your perceptions of the thoughts it conveys though, like:

Plus 1 on your idea, Ameliorative. Agreed in full.
If there weren't forced reactions, even fewer people would bother to play it out at all. Or they would only play it out when it's convenient for them.
I think forced CMs at extreme levels would be good and logical.
Would be cool if like there what an GPT hook that took what you said and distorted it, made it sound like a crazy person. So it only really triggers when you go to say something and not randomly.
Please, no more chatGPT than we already have. Also you put this in the wrong forum, Slither's gonna be annoyed.
yeah ixnay on the chatGPT shit i dont need my character talking like a linkedin post
