Greetings one and all. I am currently working a DesktopX theme for SD. I am looking for origional wallpapers, (1024x768 and higher resolutions), for this theme. You can look at this as Sindome's UNOFFICIAL desktop theme.
All submissions MUST MUST MUST be ORIGIONAL. Nothing downloaded and no links to sites that aren't yours. I don't feel like dealing with the legal ramafications of using unlicensed art. That being said you can send everything to [email protected]

What screen resolutions does everybody use. for those of you that actually use windows and what are some clients that you guys are using these days?

For desktop res, 1024/768.  An' when you say client, do you mean MOO Client?.. Cause if thats what you mean, then SimpleMu..

Wow… this sounds awesome.. I so need to get to work on something to send ya good buddy... and it's nice to be able to bug ya agin, I missed talkin to ya. Clients, The oficial client of the admin, I used Vmoo, resolution, 800X600 I believe... I really don't remember and don't feel like checking... I'll see what I can do about some art for ya... now what did I do with my inks.....

I use a modified version of Smial, the pueblo based client, at a little under half the screen width, and full screen height.. tucked to the right.

As for resolution, I have 1600x1200.

Haha, a water cooled PC, nice.

I like the impossible triangle being used as an A, but.. perhaps the style of the rest of the name is too flat, making it clash a wee bit?

Quality slogan.

You left some white on the girl's right shoulder (our left), where you cut it out, and in the locks of hair too. Maybe the slightest bit of guasian bluring for the edges would make it look that little bit slicker?

I'm not sure about the streaming text placement, and maybe the X-Ray like image is a bit too dark, if it's simply meant to add to the image (which I'm guessing is the case), rather than a main feature though.

Great composition though, and I can see a subtle dyanmic diagonal going on, which the girl's eyes help too, which I love.

Hmm, anyway. I should stop being a critic and make something myself.

Off to holland on friday though, …so, may be some time.

1600x1200 (pc) and 1440x900 (powerbook), so I can't use Saedor Krupp's kick ass wallpaper. :(

Iga, please give us a 1600x1200, that way it can be resized to any lower resolution of comparable scale. That should cover the majority of common PC resolutions. If you give us a 1440x900 widescreen version, that should scale down to lower widescreen resolutions as well. :)

And no debating established logos, Protag. It helps to read the Grid. *swats*

I just found my Photoshop and $20, (cleaning the room rocks!) I'll be getting started on the DesktopX SD Theme shortly. I'm getting all the scripts ready for a complete SD desktop.

I'm going to try to build a quickterm into the desktop completely skinned to fit the rest of the theme. As well as building the bitchboards into the theme. Those two will be relitivly simple cause they're the same thing.

What feature would you like to see/use? go!

The quickterm appearance is an IC thing and I can't have you reproducing it because every character is subject to a different interface technically.

That said, I'm sitting in a multimedia lab and they have big monitors and oh my goodness they are pretty.

Okay, so, when I made this image it was in the afternoon, and my apartment gets astronomically BRIGHT. So, I couldn't see how funky parts of the hair were. I re-did them.

Yeah, nice work man.
Cool use of transparency, I especially like the symbol.. couldn't think of a better level or placement, wicked stuff.

Would be sweet perhaps to have to shadows of the person conform to the building and vice versa, but then.. they're detached from the scene by the handprinted WCS strip anyway (which creates a cool effect by the way).. so
intentional me thinks?

Nice shadow behind the left shoulder, if you added that..

and the pallete has to be bowed down to… the sickly yellow skin and mustard gass, with a hint of a terminal's neon glow.

Yah... going to have to save this one. :).

I would be interested to know how much of the image you orchestrated.

Actually, I lucked out with the colour, I only had to do a minor hue shift. The image of the woman came that way! The rest I just re-toned and did layer effects to bring in line colour wise. This one was pretty easy to make over all. Close cropping on the hair was the bitchy part.

Left the shadows strange on purpose. It worked well with the messed up perspective lines. The back ground and the figure are at differing perspectives, so it feels really surreal. (They are seperate images). Besides, hand made shadows always look fake to me.

Everything is from http://www.istockphoto.com and altered as needed except the WCS logo, the text, and the biohazard logo. Those I made in Illustrator. There is the woman, the hallway, and the hand (which I just made multiples of and put in a row), and I also used the 'water cooled computer' image from the Saedor Krupp desktop as a very light texture. You can just make it out.

All in all, a super easy make.

Ok, so after reading Damus' post and lacking anything better to do I decided to open up Photoshop and play around. It's been awhile since I've actually done something interesting and I'm still not really sure where I'm going with it.
