He's my twin. We share a birthday, we graduated at the same time (he from college and I from highschool), and now we are moving out at the same time.

FYI for all of those who have family there I've been reading about the numbers of troops deployed, number wounded/caputred/killed, and even though it sounds really bad, this conflict pales in comparison to nearly every one the US has had in the past, The likelyhood of one of your friends/relatives having something bad happen to them, however realistic, isn't Huge. The vast media coverage of this event(and to a certain extent the previous gulf conflict) have changed our countries(and the whole world's) outlook on war.
It really makes me wonder what people would have thought of Vietnam if they were getting live camera feeds of napalm being dropped on villages, or POW's being brutally tortured. Or maybe world war II, bet things would have been different during and since then if everyone in the world could watch the terrible conditions the soldiers lived in during that war, not to mention the daily reports of thousands and thousands dying across the world.
On a lighter note I've spoken with civilians that go to the gulf area, and DAMN!!!! their getting paid big time, and rightfully so.
And yes, they do make lots of money doing it. That's one of the reason's he's doing it. The other: He misses the army bad. But I got his car, my rent is paid for now, yadda yadda. And plus we talk more now that he's gone. Since he hasn't left the states yet he still has his cell phone. But then he'll have email. Strange how you talk more with people around the world than 40 minutes away.
