Collective Nations of Africa
Brainstorming Ideas to Expand the Lore

Spring-boarding off a discussion that Napoleon kicked off about language, I think it would be a great use of player efforts and player-driven storytelling to start to expand and elaborate and contemporize the story of Africa in the future world of Sindome.

I have a little tiny bit of personal and professional background concerning Dziria which is a minority language in the Franco-Algerian diaspora, but there's something like three thousand languages and hundreds to thousands of ethnic identities on the continent so there is probably a lot of learning (to put it mildly) that be done to better understand where the continent might be and what the culture might look like 85 years in the future.

I think it would just be cool and interesting if players thought up ideas or shouted out things that they think would be cool inclusions, media they think might be inspirational to draw on (I'm really not read well enough in Afro-Futurism and would love to get recommendations!), or just general crowd sourcing of new ideas to fill out potential details.

So if anyone has suggestions or ideas I'd love to start a discussion about them. For example as a way to kick things off, the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam is a megaconstruction project that has the potential to completely transform the region if completed, and might be an interesting thing to develop into a story.

If I was creating lore from scratch as far as something like the CNA was concerned, instead of drawing borders around economic and cultural regions like I was playing the Scramble for Africa 2: Neon Electric Colonialism, I would make the union a loose economic cooperative akin to the EEA or BRICS or the G7, and make the story that old post-colonial borders had largely faded and the new nations were countless in number within the alliance, so there was a maximum amount of player freedom available to say they're from such-and-such people in whichever region without running into issues of whether that is still Ethiopia or South Sudan technically in the future.

Getting a bit more down to specifics, while Rwanda is having a bit of a moment with M23 in the DRC right now but its positioning of itself as the future Singapore of Africa is pretty plausible to me based on their incredible economic turnaround and development in the last 30 years and being a wealthy and affluent megacity-state in the future seems like it has a lot of lore potential.
