This one is a plain text version, so it isn't all that exciting to look at, but it is a good read. Warning: it is 26 pages long. Feedback welcome… I think I have most of the spelling errors. If you see or find any inconcistancies, let me know.

Just running through the timeline, only really finding minor grammar issues (its!! not it's!!), but I figure I'll let you know any major inconsistencies here (this could get long):
2009.03 - China invades Burma and Cambodia.
…
2010.05 - China invades Thailand. In response to the increased military threat presented by China, India invades Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Myanmar.
Burma *is* Myanmar. :)
Also, what happened to Tibet? I know you're not mentioning *every* country in the world, but... given how close Tibet is to being totally wiped out *now*...
maybe:
...absorbing the region into the greater whole of what the world is beginning to call the Chinese Empire, already encompassing the former countries of Tibet and (I dunno, another country near China).
2011 - The United Nations builds a new headquarters in Sydney, Australia.
(Check your map, I'd hazard a guess Sydney'll end up being underwater. I know it won't be at this point, but it might need to be moved, later.)
2017.03 - The United States, due to massive debt load and
unemployment, are forced to back out of the Seraph project.
(You have not stated what the Seraph project is.)
2019.10 - ... All across the west coast volcanic activity increases dramatically, resulting in the destruction of Portland.
(Looking at the map, Portland is in green, showing that it has been undamaged.)
2025.06 - Global ocean depths begin to rapidly rise as the increasing average global temperature causes ice caps to melt and the water to physically expand.
(Does hot water take up more space than cold water? Ice is bigger than water, the ice caps melting should actually result in sea levels dropping. I don't understand that, m'self.)
** Canada fragments into Canada + FRWC twice, first in 2004 and again in 2041.
2046.07 - On July 23, 2046 the first man walks on Mars. Hiroyuki Sakai takes the furthest steps man has ever taken from the planet earth.
*bwahahahahahahahahhaha* Who woulda thunk an Iron Chef would go so far...
2071.01 - ... Australia and New Zealand are thankfully spared, though refugees from corporate and non-corporate states flood both countries.
(I'd hazard a guess that New Zealand probably wouldn't still exist independently, at this point. If Australia's becoming such a world power, NZ would probably merge with it. God knows the rest of the world thinks we're the same place anyway, and that's *now*.
I think a peaceful merger relatively early on would be a good thing. I'm not sure what NZ could offer Australia (other than, um, sheep), but Au would make NZ far stronger on the global scene.)
I'll email the edited file to you, Mister Iga.
Otherwise it's cool. What's happening in South America? Two major upcoming superpowers projected as Brazil and India.
Granted this is a fiction, but Japan isn't going to start giving China unlimited access to it's technology in the near future. That wasn't entirely implied but.. Even if you have millions and millions of Chinese brandishing AKs. Trust me, it ain't going to be so easy. China has tons of environmental problems already. Check the goddamn Gobi desert spreading over the country like a plague because they haven't been paying attention to soil erosion. It's creaping up on major cities and spreading sand storms across the Korean peninsula and as far as southern Japan.
As to water levels: The ocean based ice caps melting in and of themselves will do nothing to global ocean levels. Ever watch an ice-cube melt in a glass? Same thing. (I am not going to get into salt water and fresh water issues…) Landlocked ice caps, such as the Antarctic and Greenland, on the other hand, contribute to ocean levels.
But, by and large, the greatest expansion of sea levels will not be from melting ice. It will be from the expansion of water as it gets warmer. And yes, it could potentially be 80-100 feet. Though that is a VERY pessimistic number. Most studies say between 3-5 feet by 2100. (Bye New Orleans!)
As to Japan not giving China technology, don't be so sure. China is poised all ready to economically bully the world. Give them a few decades and they may just be telling Japan what to do. That being said, this is fiction.
:)
I will get to the changes tommorow. Thanks guys.
One thing its missing would be something along the lines of musical trends, and stuff like that. I don't know if thats something you wanted to include in there though..
I picture something like..
Insert Band name here's concert in Sinacria draws 80,000,000 as orbital speakers broadcast the show across the entire continent.
Or something.
1) Canadian confusion cleared up.
2) Cleaned up Myanmar/Burma confusion.
3) Renamed the Free Republic of Western Canada, cleaned up referances.
4) Noted when Alaska leaves America
5) Noted the reconstruction of Portland
6) Noted the building of the Sydney tidal walls
7) Misc. Spelling changes.
Anyone interested read through and check it out again. Thanks for the feedback.
As to pop-culture trends, well, I will leave that for a seperate timeline. This one is mostly about corps, governments, and volcanoes. As to Latin America, Jinx has been working on a timeline for down south that ties into this one. An expansion to the expansion.
On a side note, if your character has a history with something interesting in it that is not noted in the timeline, let me know, maybe we can fit it in. Maybe not. We shall see.
:)
I was thinking it had been lumped in with SE Asia (as happens occasionally today), but no.
Other than this minor nitpick, I'm very impressed. Breaking things into little bits is good!
