I also think Alaska should be a lot more disfigured…and probably big chunks missing out of eastern canada..
[It's pretty slick though.]

I took a composite map I found online made of xray survey data from space. I then looked at some ocean depth increase projections and settled on a depth increase of 80 feet. I then used Florida as my base point, since the highest point of that particular state is only around 100 feet. Using photoshop I was able to select all the areas, by altitude, under 80 feet on the map… and voila, the damaged regions. (you should see what happened to the amazon basin!)
I will probably change the name of the free rep. of western canada... I am not hot on that name at all to be honest.
Mexico sprawls, I never thought of that. I will add them in for sure. Keep the comments coming!
Couple of things.
New Huston or New Houston? I understand how names get bastardised over time, but thought I'd mention it.
(Lone Star Republic = awesome, btw)
Likewise, still in the same area - Le Neuvou Rouge or Le Nouveau Rouge?
Given my rather average geographic knowledge of North America, I don't really *see* the impact of the rising water quite as much as you guys who are living there, but to me, it looks fine.
Name for Western Canada... no ideas, but if it's to stay the Free Republic of Western Canada, you should get rid of the first 'b' in "Rebpublic". :)
(Also fond of the idea of it just having "a name" - while everything else is "republic of this" or "free state of that", maybe the Canadians just founded a whole new country and named it after the person who lead the revolution? ...or find something Latin for "fuck off, this is our oil".)
*settles in to read up on future-history*
I will chat with the rest of the staff about city domes and the like, see what we can figure out.
