How many people actually have their characters read the paper?  It seems like most people have no real interest, which is fine.  But I'd like to make this a better part of the game.

So if anyone has ideas of how to increase reader interest IC, let me know.  I'd think more people would want to be aware of the news, but then again maybe not.  Maybe it's all the rich snots up on blue who read the Globe, but I kinda figure they have their own style magazines and what not.  Let me know what your thoughts are.

Tash reads it religiously, always has and I would LOVE to have it be more than it is and like I've said before I'm willing to help with this OOC even if I can't IC.

Well, ine thing that would increase player interest in the Glob, I believe, is if the reporter-types were more 'out there'. I don't mean mingling and whatnot, I mean, when covering IC events, do what real reporters do, and harass everyone involved for more information, then half-quote them! Maybe have a lengthy interview once in a while with a local celeb, more opinion pieces (the 'Fuck You' was always good for a chuckle!). If possible, it'd be neat if admins would allow posting of pictures exclusively on the Globe board, so you reporter types could dig up relevant photographs and rip them off their native site, so the articles have a bit more 'umph' to them. That kind of stuff, I think. And maybe pop in some advertisements in obnoxious colours right in the middle of an article. It'd add some flavour and more appeal, and possibly sell more quickterms in the process.

Yeah, those are some good ideas.  Thanks a lot, I like the picture thing too and I've often wished I could post pictures as well.  And yeah, the ads would be great. I might even get creative and draw some.  Maybe I'd even make a comic or two now and then.  Johnny, would that be possible?

I can't make Ty get in people's faces, she couldn't be that kind of reporter. But it would be neat if the Globe hired a replacement for Rigby who -would- get down and dirty.

I like the idea of the interviews with celebs, too. But there aren't any celebs left, really. I did that with Gunnar once. So I'll have to invent some.  Oooh, I know, I could interview some upstanding citizens on blue.

FYI, general public of SD, if any of you -ever- have inspiration for something I should cover, send me a note, either OOC or if your character thinks of it IC talk to Tylissa.  I appreciate the ideas a lot, any time and will try my best to use them.  Keep them coming, I'm trying to get fired up.
