So the Grid's been up long enough to where if you havn't heard of it you must of been living under a rock.
What's the general concensus on it?
Hot or Not?
I've seen a few people make some very effective use of it, but I get the impression the general population dosn't know just how powerful it can be in the hands of the right person with the right tools, or dosn't have the energy to make use of it.
Questions? Comments? Opinions?
Screams of agony?

The details of how to -really- use the grid MAY NOT be openly discussed in ANY OOC forum. DO NOT ruin the IC mystery surrounding the mis-use of the new grid.
This is not to say you can't answer Kev's question, just tread carefully since the details are NOT widely known ICly.

Do not listen to this madman. The special code to access many more powerful functions is 'XYZZY'. It is not in any of the documentation, even Kevlar and Johnny don't know about it. But use this carefully, you never know where you might end up. ;)

I like the new grid and i see a lot of potential in it. I think the players are used to new things being implemented and coresponding more ICly than 'ooh let's alljump on the new features' so ICly i don't think everyone would use the new features.
So i think while some haven't quite unlocked the key of effectiveness that you all as the architects see in it, others have not seem any need in their situation at the moment.
dunno if this is IC or OOC, but reading through the help file tells me a lot about the details, but I had to stumble along how to edit 'my page' and i still don't remember how i did it. But i tend to have to read some directions a few times before jumping right in. So the 'first step' 'next step' approach might not be clear enough for a dummy like me :P
I think the thing i've liked most about it is the IC way of bringing info about the environment to the players. I think that's thee single most valuable aspect of it. There are other things that are valuable, but that's the best. in my eyes at least.
Great work keep it up!

I like it. I haven't played around with it too much, cause my character is oreineted towards that sort of thing, but its still brought on some good RP. I agree with Stonemonk that it brings information to the people easier and better… plus, it looks good!

Any thoughts on allowing people to use their own pics? upload capabilities or would that bring about an approval process that's not wanted.

And the grid needs back buttons, the forum could use a decent back button system too. that's the only thing i've found a bit frustrating :P i can get by though

Backspace has done that since IE version 3. I do apologize, but I never thought about anyone not knowing about the backspace thing.
I'll worm a 'back' link into the interface somehow at some point.

Backspace doesn't work in all browsers, though. Even then, it can be annoying to keep going to the keyboard to navigate a website…
Wont somebody think of the children!?

Annoying to keep going to the keyboard? Your playing a F-ing MOO, how exactly are you away from your keyboard?

A) Somebody needs to fix somebody's humor detector. It's malfunctioning.
B) I don't know about you, but when I switch to using a website, I'm typically using the mouse while I'm on it.
C) If you want to stir something up, pick a more interesting way.

ok, I found something I don't like about grid 2.0 (probibaly just a bug though. I bugged it in any case but I want to mention it here just to make sure it's not just me)
so when I try to change my password in the profile section it changes it, but you can't access your mail anymore because it automatically uses your login code (I think) which doesn not seem to change for some reason because when I logout, then log back in (even if I clear all cookies) only the old code works…

Damn, I was hoping no one would try that for a few more days. I've known about it for a few now, just haven't had time to take care of it because it's a good bit of work. It will come.

A few sidenotes…
Using XSS you can steal peoples grid passwords. This is illegal and I don't do it but its possible. So why not make a way for it to be done within' the games sphere?
The grid touches on some html pages and the moo can direct its content to html. Can't it? I mean...its just scripting? Right? So why not silly lil' resources like...the weather...and so on and so forth as html backgrounds. That possibly allow in-game use of cracking/programming/etc.
Blah blah blah. Just rehashing my old crap. I really wish this could be sent to the idea board.
NI skills hurt my skull...but I love them SooOOooo much.
