Apartments

I just  hate apartments…look I don't wanna hear shit from no one cause I know PAY THE FUCKING RENT.

I try, but shit happens, especially when someone throws a wrench in your IRL plans...can you get like a warning the day it's do...i mean even bastard land lords give you a day or two before they kick you on the street right?

I'm just askin for a tad bit on leanancy on apartment payments...two words sum it up Shit Happens, I mean even car insurance companies have the shit happens clause...why do n't you

This is my outlook:

1. 50+million people on red going in and out of apartments.

2. In the future things are automated so that it's easier.
     a. There's no background check, proof of employment required.
     b. No questions asked when you're loud.
     c. A landlord on red would probably have to get cloned more often than Dom did as a Judge.

3. There are thousands upon thousands of people (in theory) waiting for those apartments.

4. There is a landlord and through RP you can get your things back.

My biggest point here is this. When you make suggestions (Dom or anybody) Think about in a logical sense. How would it be in the slummiest sleasiest place in the world ever.  Stop thinking like 'How can we make it easier for me.'  RL stuff happens. Keep your rent paid 2 or 3 weeks in advance. And check it whenever you're on.

Question: How would the landlord work? have an admin check your rent for you and puppet an NPC to come knock on your door and attempt to RP with you while you idle for ever and then open the door. Only to find you bitching at the Landlord for being mean. I personally think it's a waste of admin time or a waste of code.

At most I'd suggest that some apartments might have an SIC notification system. But that'd require surrenduring your SIC info to the apartment people. And you know in the NR this wouldn't fly. the beauty and pain of NR is the anonymity. The least interaction between you and the landlord the better.

So I will say, just pay your rent.  The info is right there in front of your face every time you log in.

Not trying to be mean, just practical.

I have to say i'm with the admin's on this one.  Espically for people who play regularly.  All you have to do is type check <doorname>.  I do it almost everyday, and my rent is paid through sometime in August.  Like stone said there/s a shitload of people down on red, a landlord ain't gonna care who's in the place as long as it's getting paid for, the minute your late, out you go so he can get another tenant in there paying for the room.  Now as for RL issues, i can completely understand that things come up, but Dom i see your avatar on almost nightly, there isnt any excuse for him not paying his rent other than he just forgot to do it, in which case I'm sorry. Hopefully an Admin will have the time to puppet Palmer and you can get what's left of your stuff back.  But as for SIC notification or a knock on your door,  I don't think that an admin should have to be bothered to keep on us to do something so simple.

You can pay your rent more than a week in advance.

If you're worried, pay up a month in advance and try to pay 2 weeks worth, every two weeks, that way you have a buffer for if RL shit gets in the way.
