Customizable Sit Messages

Bias suggested that we have customizable sitting messages, ala @sit_place me is.

I suggest the 'sit' command messages could be made generic enough to not include the place the person is sitting.

Of course people will be forever forgetting where they were last sitting, but that happens now with @look_place.

What does everyone else think?

I particularly like this idea as it would give my character a wider RP range. But I think that it should set the sit_msg automatically and the player would have the choice to change it… Just like the default @look_place is is standing here. A seat could have a default sit_place message that is setted as it is today.
In a semi-related idea, it would be keen if @look_place was included in 'l me' or @stats, along with other commonly changed @messages such as @title.

Sifting through the @messages list is balls.

I agree with Murphy on that one.  I think its totaly a good idea to have the look_place in the look me messages, and it could check to see if your sitting, and show you your sit-msg  if your sitting.

On sitting though, I think you should have to set it each time you sit.  It would make for much better, easier then forgetting you had set a sit_msg, and all.

Yeah, the @sit_place thing is a pretty good idea.  I remember (quite some time ago), roleplaying on GOLD and sitting along side the road in one of the parks there through poses.  A Judge came along and told me to "get out of the road" and much confusion ensued.  So it would be good to do something about that..  however..

If you want to be technical about it, you can already make it look like you're sitting somewhere specific if you use @look_place.  However, there are some things that can be done while doing this (i.e. combat, walking, etc.) that you can't do when using the actual sitting command.

Whee.
