I was just sitting around and thinking…
How cool would it be if you and your boys were able to buy a like a Koi, paint it with your colors, load up and roll out? Well, you can. Now. What usually happens when a gang loads up and rolls out. Drive by!
Hold your gats out the window, roll up on rival turf, and show em why they need to step off or get knocked off.
Of course, this shouldn't even be considered without vehicles being able to be damaged/destroyed, becuase then you could turn like your mono into an immortality tank uber weapon +5.
But yea, I like to dream....

Wow biohazard thinking that is new.
Anyway I am sure they are thinking about it but it takes a long ass time to do it. Like it is almost like making it so you can put an item in another room and still hold it and yeah I am sure it is complicated so patience is a good thing.

Give the coders some credit. I'm sure they could do it. But as this was talked about before in another topic, let me rehash.
It wont happen because.. Cars don't take damage. There are no weapons that could safely blow up a car. If there were, there would be no cars, because everyone would blow up all the cars they saw.
So there is no way to stop people from just driving around and popping people. The people getting shot at would have no way to return fire.

I, personally, do not buy into the logic of 'we won't build it because we work in circular logic and blah…blah...blah.'
I think cars should be explodeable. I think working in a paradigm that says 'we won't code it because players will just abuse it' is pointless.
If that is the case, lets pull the fucking plug on the MOO, because every damn day I see some fucking player abusing some feature.

I wasn't saying it shouldn't be done because it would be abused. I just haven't heard, and can't think of, a way for it to be done that would be realistic, balanced, and good for the game

Well, once all the objects in the game have 'hitpoints' drive bys could be very functional. Like any variance of combats its advantages must be countered by its flaws evening out gameplay.
Advantages-
Mobility
Inherent Protection [being that your in the car.]
Disadvantages-
Not enough room to continually avoid incoming fire (The Car itself)
Damage to the car could result in damage to the players in it.
Car is susceptible to various 'critical hits' (Tires, fuel tank etc.) which may limit mobility or even render the vehicle immobile.
There's a start.

So Nemisis, you think that vehicles as impregnable fortraces, which is what they are now, is good for the game? Is balanced?
Hmmm.
Interesting.
I'm inclinded to lock this topic, since it has been so totally hashed, rehashed, and served as leftovers so many times in other forums and by the staff.
Frankly, the chances that anyone here can contribute something that hasn't all ready been said is so low that I'd put money on it.

There are other ways besides blowing them up that would make them more vulnurable. Hotwiring, lock picking, all that jazz. Right now, I think its balanced that they don't take damage, because they don't -do- damage.
