GPS and other thoughts...

Just a thought, but how about issuing specialized 'tracker' rounds for the WJF Enforcers or other handguns, which fire a single GPS-enabled round that will stick into a car, NPC, player-character, etc, until properly removed.  For cars, you need an auto-tech to properly find and remove the imbedded tracker.  For the more meaty inhabitants of the Dome, a doctor is required to remove the bullet.

Also, I was pondering the idea that all WJF-issued magnacuffs have an enabled GPS tag imbedded into them, allowing escaped fugitives to be tracked via the cuffs, for those oft wily police chases.  I mean, we have GPS trackers, why not use them in more interesting ways, or incorporate GPS into WJF armour or the TAC scanner to reduce the amount of equipment the Judges have to carry.

Also, I thought about some sort of blind you pull over a person's head, for the purposes of kidnapping and abduction,  which blocks out all light, sound, and SIC transmission while effectively gagging the person to keep them from shouting out loud and drawing attention.  The item would be used in conjunction with some sort of restraining device to keep them from pulling the blind from their heads.  The verb might be similar to:  force blind on <player>, etc.

Just a few chyen worth of thoughts,

Grim

I back this thread.
I second that.
Mmmm….Delicious and kinky.

…just like you, eh?

I mean... I third this. Or fourth, or howevermany we're up to, now.

All 3 ideas are excellent.
I'm in total agreement with the WJF gear tracking. Hell, it's 85 years in the future and there's already RFID chips floating around to be able to track stuff. Imagine what would be available down the road.

The tracking bugs would be good too. I think our current beacons/trackers need a revamp. They're extremely buggy.. I'm not even sure they work properly. To merge this with the GPS tech would be great. There is some backend stuff on the admin side that needs doing as well. All rooms have a matrix id to them, but not all coordinates have been set on rooms. The major streets are mostly done and some older buildings, but still a lot to cover.

The blind could be interesting as well. As long as we put in enough checks to combat the twinkiness-factor. :swordfight:

Definitly. I figure since all cop cars have low jacks on them, if and when any police agency got armor that is pretty expensive, they would put some bugs on em.

And take it from someone who -tried- to use the tracker on MANY different occasions, they don't really work.

Concerning the blind, the only way you could properly put a blind on someone is if they @trust you, or they are magnacuffed, or unconscious. Though I would suppose you'd have to magnacuff them first before putting on the blind so that they couldn't remove the blind in the first place.

Agh.  That does sound a little too kinky. :spank:
