Was just chillin' by the NLM terminal, using it in fact when another freindly chummer started using it as well. It's nice that they're so big ;p. But I see this individual using the terminal, " does something at the NLM StreetTerm." but i go to look and can't see them. Perhaps using an NLM would pull people out of 'hide' mode , just like speaking or moving used to/does now (not positive).

I heard someone suggest a while ago that you have to sit at the terminal to use it, which would solve both problems posed there, I belive. It would keep more than one (or more, like you could have 4 seats around a single, 4 screened terminal) person from using it at a time. Also, sitting at the terminal would force them out of hiding, I think. It would also stop the rather spammy "Someone does something at the NLM terminal."
IMO, something should be done eventually, even if it means geting put on the list to be completed in 5-10 years.

I seem to remember being able to 'work' at SHI, while hiding.

Yeah, sneak/hide is a little screwy. It wouldn't be as much of a problem if there weren't people who overused it. I remember a while ago something being mentioned about adding a fatigue system, which would put the people who sneak 24/7 in their place.
I look at sneak/hide in two ways. You have the literal, sneaking and hiding that keeps you out of sight. And you have the 'trying to blend in' type that does logically work in crowded places like SHI. If you always keep your head down and don't look at anyone while working there, you wouldn't be readily visible to people who just walked in.
More places need to be marked no-hide though. I seem to remember a certain Judge hiding in the hallway at Westinghaus (quite a feat by itself, considering), and being able to disarm someone as they walked by without becoming visible. Hmph. I wish I had my super-ninja inviso-suit too.

A solution for this is indeed on the list from a previous idea thread. In the meantime, call them on it OOCly. We expect people to be IC and that extends to these loopholes. Remember, I am not going to fix every loophole, code is supposed to support RP and not restrict everything down to a series of drone-like commands. If your hidden and using a street term, YOU ARE WRONG. Have some common sense and unhide before you use it.
This also goes to those twink mother fuckers who rewear a shroud repeatedly when the system undisguises you when your too stupid and open your mother fucking mouth. It's undisguising you for reason, stop being a twink bastard already!
Common sense goes a long way.

People are seriously doing that with shrouds? Now that's just plain fucking retarded. If I saw someone taking a shroud on and off repeatedly ICly, they would get a thwomping for acting like a loon. Then I would take the shroud from them.

yeah, shrouds are abused, another twinkish action, accidently revealing yourself somehow, and then going 'whoops ignore that' hell no I won't you fucked up..

I still say a good thwomping is the answer. Of course, that'd probably also be Lance's solution if he was wearing a shroud and revealed himself: thwomp the people who saw you. He's not quite right in the head.
Seriously though, if I caught someone rewearing a shroud and telling me to ignore that, they would get a verbal thrashing the likes of which only a few people have seen from me.

an IC asswhoopin would be much more fun.

And the next character I catch trying to sneak around while carrying a corpse (regardless of state of decay) especially if they've 'put it away' will be dealt with IC, red style.
1) :bigguns:
2) :aug:
3) :ar15:
4) :bash:
5) :johnwoo:
And you will end up :beaten: because by doing that you prove you're a :twink: :poser: :wanker:
Got it?
And yes, before you ask, it's happened - recently.
And my vote is for an IC asswhoopin, followed by an OOC verbal thrashing that continues after the the character has again awoken and is once again the victim of an IC asswhoopin.

Hey I wont lie, it was my character that was carrying a corpse while sneaking. The admin told me that was not possible and I stopped. In my defense though, IRL: If you were pretty sneaky, and you had someone walking ahead of you, and telling you over the phone, when to move, and when not too move, you could probably stay out of sight with a corpse slung over your back. As for putting it away, I see it as slinging it over your back or something. Obviously no one can fully hide a corpse on them.

My char. volunteers to dish out ic beatings to people who have been bad ic. :)
street justice is kick ass, and
the only way you could 'sneak' with a corpse is if you totally ignore the fact that there is ambient population. even on red someone drging a corpse down the street would draw intrest, nobody may care except the agents, but people would notice.
just my opinion.

Hey, if the guy can admit that he was the one who made that folly and stopped when the admin told him, major props. I don't think that subject needs to be drawn out anymore. I have a lot of respect for anyone who can admit when they did stuff like that.
