Non-lethal Options

Needler cartridges are readily available in certain 'secluded' parts of Withmore.  I've given alot of odd suggestions for the Enforcer…nuke launcher still at the top of the priority list here...

BUT, one thing I think it could use, would be the needles.  This would offer a non-lethal opportunity.  For those situations where you actually are trying to bring a person in.  I mean, the firepower of the Enforcer is superb...it levels the playingfield ALOT.  But...13mm holes are -real- big, its hard to bring people back hehe.  I vote the needler be part of its configuration.

Thoughts?

@fatal
@fatal doesn't stop the uber-bloodloss the Enforcer guarantees.  9/10 times, that's what kills a perp.
It is true that the @fatal option makes it so you dont intend to kill them, but when you're using a 13mm weapon it doesnt matter if you hit center mass or if you hit limbs… Chances are the perp will die. So maybe a needler or dart gun is in order. Just to knock them out or something...
Yeah, and we're not talking instantly here or anything.  Though I can't say how the dart guns -do- work since I've never seen them.  I was just thinking, with the ammo readily available, the gun should be able to use it.  Then we'd be able to actually catch people for once rather than BLAM…damnit.
Well, dart guns inject a toxin which knocks out the victim in a designated amount of time. The time it takes to knock said perp out would depend on their endurance.

So let's say I'm running from the WJF and they start shooting at me with these and I'm hit. Well, I run for a bit and I get tired… And after a little while I just get exhausted and collapse. The Judges chasing me walk up, cuff me, pull the dart out(if it hasnt come out already) and drag my sorry mixer ass off to jail.

Could make it so that less people die, more info is given... And info does make the world go 'round.

If someone dies from bloodloss its easy to stabilize them. And I've seen systems in use like the one your talking about, they're cool…but equally shitty...unless you plan on letting the most simplest of armor stopping them.

You could always just choke a bitch. ;)

But what about the weaker judges who dont have a bunch of muscles. And for armor, there are needles which can penetrate the hides of animals with thick skin like hippo's, elephants, and rhino's so I dont thinka rmor would be a big problem.
Most people these days carry guns…  Leather wouldn't stop them...but yeah, normal armor would, protek at least maybe?

Choking bitch with  gun not wise...chinese wisdom there.

I support this. I think Judges should have a non-lethal option.

And not just because I've been completely wasted by a 13mm when the poor Judge is doing everything in his power to keep me alive and not waste a poor newbie who was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time on a stroke of bad luck (and I do mean the stat), and the RP is just going that way.

Well, maybe. Ok, I won't lie. That's probably is the reason. But still, I think it's a good idea.

I'm glad you approve, but I'm kinda curious what your thoughts would be as far as a system… A dart gun? Taser? Or... A bat net... I like that one.
Yeah…non-lethal would definitely be useful for taking down new characters as well as old.  It would redefine the outfit easily.  Rather than shoot first, ask the dead body later...
On another MOO I play we have these things, they're pretty much dart guns. And like I said, they penetrate even the toughest armor, wit a razor tip and puncture the skin and insert a toxin which knocks out the victim after their endurance wears down.

Same thing could happen here.

I like it, mind you I don't want to see everyone running around taking advantage of this…it could easily be misused...normally a person would have to work hard to find the dart gun, they're practically non-existant in game right now.  Keep it that way for normal players...otherwise there'd be -alot- of knockouts and neckbreaking.
I was thinking it could be yet another attachment to the good ole Enforcer. The product would be misused too much. And would be used by judges only when they wanted to capture someone.
Exactly my thoughts :D

It could replace the grenade launcher that…has no use.

There's a system in place. Enforcers can switch ammo loads, and needler ammo could be used.

And I absolutely disagree about removing grenade launcher. I mean talk about a fantastic RP tool! I cannot think of a more awesome way to put the fear of a Judge into someone than to say to your weapon, "grenade", and have it reply back in this unearthly computerized growl, "grenade", and then point it at their head.

Has the whole world gone fucking mad?! Don't touch enforcers if your going to fuck them up please! Leave the RP to the RPers and let them have their fun!

-Kevlar

Methinks the armor should fry your ass just as the Enforcer does too….
I agree with Kevlar on the grenade… great RP tool.

But for armor, if it is so custom like it's been described to me... Why can anyone wear it? I think only the person intended should be able to wear it... As a thought.

Yes, if its custom made for my 5'6" char…how's a 6'2" guy fitting...its not cloth that stretches...its metal.
Exactly. But methinks that's a conversation for another thread…
I hate to say this, but the solution is already available ICly. It's actually standard issue for WJF Medics and I'm sure it'd be available via appropriate equipment requisition.
::didnt know that::
Well, at least we know this now… Thanks, Johnny.
Then that'd be two guns.  Talkin about just one here :P  But cool regardless.
I think the grenade option on the enforcer doesn't work?  Alteast not that I have ever seen, though it should definitely be fixed.

Atleast with sonic grenades for crowd dispersment.  I wanna see three Judges take out a food riot.

CS Gas would be interesting…
Well, I would think it should only really be sonic, or at least make them less powerful than hand-grenades.  I could see it being mistreated…even with me.  But I would certainly want them to explode on impact...otherwise remove it for it serves no coded purpose.  RP wise, sure...but half the time no-one has a chance to do that threatening emote.  When it gets that aggressive, there are usually two combat rolls going by :P
Heh.  WJF Medic's Armor has electrocution?  Damnit. I suggested that for Johns back before it was implemented.  So much for being a defensive character these days, though.  ;-P

As for the sliver guns, there are a few in game, they are expensive, and they do their job if not slooooooowly. A potential victim can -still- die from bloodloss after being needled a few million times, but that's how it's played.

As for nonlethal weapons. I'd suggest throwing in the sci fi standard: the stun baton.  Hits you like a baseball bat, zaps you like a Shocker 9 credchip, and two can be wielded simultaneously by some badass member of the Judiciary. Couple one with a riot shield and set yourself to @posture defensive and non-fatal, and you've got yourself a nonlethal situation.

Grim

Hmm…cracking someone in the head and laughing at their new bald spot is something I could do :D

I have found said item…but it doesn't exactly work like it should.  Shows a message -saying- it works...but after that nothing. Perhaps some tweaking is in order.  If you need more info, contact my aim or whatever and I'll explain what happened in more detail.
