oil change
what a dang mess

Okay. I think Mechanics who work on cars should get like a sub appearance thing of like, oily, or oil-stained. Activates sometimes when working on cars/AVs, or scrounging in the junkyard for players who dont work on cars. We have sewer gunk, we have blood, water… But getting all oily could be a benefit in grapple scenarios. Make yourself hard to grab. Plus I want to watch a bunch of oiled up joys fistfight in a parking lot.

food for thought, please discuss.

essentially: obtained through auto/av work, and junkyard searching

effect: slippery, hard to grab

drawback: you can possibly fall flat on your ass during flee attempts or during fighting, and lose a turn if not good with your reflexes

Auto and aero mech actions don't currently stain clothing like blood but, at least to my memory, all of them contribute towards how dirty a character appears (and smells).
However a distinctive scent from scrounging would be, well funny is maybe the wrong word but it could very slightly raise the murder rate between territorial mechanics.
There's a fragrance out there for those wanting to smell like mechanics, ironically. Not that I'm opposed to the idea, though you're be more likely to be gritty than slippery after deep work on vehicle. Unless you baka something up and dump a transmission full of fluid on your head (I did that once).
