SIC + 60 million people

Ok there are 60 million people that live in the dome right?

I think that there should be a ton of chatter over SIC right?

So here's my idea:Use key words to ignite chatter over sic, (eg.1 Rigby>>I want Sex.  <<Bot1>>I'll give you sex you $%^#&!)

also you could have botted conversations bot1 and bot2 just talking about misc stuff. It would add to the whole "bigness" of the dome

Assume it. Just like many other ambient population events, assume them… or include it in your poses. I for one, do not want random NPC and coded chatter over the SIC anymore then I want NPCs responding to -every-. -Single-. -Thing. With phrases like "I like <insert what a player said here>, you do to?"

So yes... there is a fine line between realism... and spammage.

*Does a Devi and drops a few pennies in the well...*

Yes it would be spam…...but with 60 million people out there, 2 or 3 bots would hurt anything....
Admin have a command that allows them to drop random SIC comments to the network every so often, I use it all the time and generally speaking the response to it is almost non-existant. People check the 'who' list, don't see the name on the list so don't bother responding. Randomly generated messages would be nothing more than pointless spam and would -very- quickly become repetative. I mean look at the SIC ads. I'd -LOVE- to see them change every few weeks, but who has the time or motivation to do it regularly?

I'd rather just stick to encouraging the various admin to drop random shit to the SIC every now and again. Ambience is good…

If ya want random chatter, just change your name, send a message, and change it back… see if it sparks anything...

Another thing to point out about RP in general... I know I do this, dunno if anyone else does... I realize it now, so I'm working on fixing it... but RP doesn't have to be major... we could go out and make our own. Get a party, do some emotes and actions, make some party toys... etc...

RP a lil attack on you and a friend by a few punks who try and lift that leather wallet from your pal. Get hurt, go talk about it over a few drinks at Carnal.

Find a large infestation of man-eating rats and run like mad as they chase you through the streets....

Hell, if you start something, an admin may pick up the other end and boom. You have RP that is very interesting... (i'd like to see the rat one...)

*A few more cents down the drai... er... well*

At COTBash the mutant rats werre brought up…oh yes...roving packs of them!

Actually, I was probably talking and everyone was desperatly tring to ignore my madness...

As to changing SIC tags dropping a message, and changing back, A decker with the skills will track you by SIC serial number, and you'll look like a nutter. At least thats what someone once said to me at one time way back when.

Or something.

True indeed, although you ICly change your SIC alias there are various already coded IC constants that will remain the same, pointing to you. The ID number of your SIC implant, your entry on the SIC network database, etc, etc, everything stays the same except the alias… So yeah, not just hackers but anyone with access to alternative ways of viewing the data passing back and forth on the SIC networks would simply see you changing your name repeatedly and talking to yourself.

It's a nice theory for creating RP, but if you use it and Joe-Decker starts ICly calling you a loon, there is -NO- OOC defence, it is purely IC fact.
