As was suggested, this is getting its own thread.
WJF body armor is scaled to size, made completely custom for each individual. None but people of the same stature at least should be able to wear it.
Being that most know who my char is, I've little issue saying he's -short- at 5'6".
Two ideas for rectifying this came to mind. One would be that the armor carries live voltage much like the Enforcers do. With the advancement in technology, and the fact that a gun can carry a charge, powered armor should as well, but only if worn I would think. And the other idea would be that it simply wouldn't fit another individual.
Thoughts?

Hell no. You keep what you kill. Judge armor is the mark of someone who is the law or killed the law.
With possession of WJF goods as rediculous as it is IC, I think things are acceptable.

Already been discussed. Discussed much more in the last couple days. If I have my way the voltage thing will be implemented, at the very least to the attack armor. Helmets, gloves, boots, etc. might just have homing beacons on them. Be advised though, there will be notice of any changes ICly, so any of you wandering around with illegal gear won't just be shocked to death. Of course if you miss the IC signs, that's your own fault.
Mixer scum will learn not to fuck with the WJF.

Yeah, the extremeties shouldn't have the shock to them, to this I agree. And while keeping what you kill is the mixer way, that doesn't work so well when dealing with corporate goods…they protect their shit.

I agree with Dam here. I think that it should be custom, I mean it -is- custom to my understanding. So why would my char who is say 6'4" be able to put on the armor of a Judge who stands at about 5'6". That's a hug difference and I doubt much if anything would fit right.
And yes, you keep what you kill, but a smart mixer sells that shit first chance they get. Last thing they want on their hands is being caught with it.

Perhaps some kind of security measures should be implemented, but why not breach-able security measures that incorporate the usage of some kind of skill.
Judge armor has been accessible for a long time, and the few people who tend to wear it are notorious outlaws. Its a statement to wear judge armor. A very powerful one. Why should it be removed when it could just be made an even greater statement to the great lengths involved in wearing it.
Not only did you kill a judge but you paid good chy to have it refitted so you could wear it?

I think a system like that could be applied to several different objects in game.

One quick question: How would you refit it? In order to do so while retaining it's strength you'd have to have the same kind of material. And if you had that same kind of material, why would you bother adding on to judge armor?

I'm just talking about disarming the security measures.

How about having WJF armor downgrade itself when not worn by the Judge it was issued to?
It's keyed to the Judge, like Enforcers, which triggers a mechanism (electromagnetic current or some such) which alters the molecular state of the weave, a kind of hardening process.
Judge killers get their trophy armour but the WJF retain the unique advantages of it.

I like where this is going.
Customizable armor means customizable items.
Which means maybe someday we'll have weaponsmiths and unique objects.
Nobody wants to see everybody in the same black leather trenchcoats, so we got tailors.
They don't get used much..but they're there.
Shouldn't it be the same way with weapons? Modifications.

Man, toss a chummer a bone here. Judge armor is a status symbol like little else you can have on red, who doesn't feel like the coolest kid in town as heads turn, that judge armor buldging, and maybe just slightly visible under that HUGE custom tailored trenchcoat. I must concede that if the enforcers had the "theft protection" than the armor probably would too. An idea that crosses my mind is to make pc/higher ranking judge armor have this feature, but the standard issue foot soldier armor doesn't. You could also just impliment the system as a blanket, but make it a bit more easy to be hacked….. IC'ly that is.

I agree with the ability to deactivate the protection on Judge equipment entirely. I mean, most anything is supposed to be hackable am I correct? This would give more depth, and of course if you lacked the connection for such a thing it wouldn't be in your hands long. Though only the most notorious of outlaws would wear it regardless…most everyone else would know better.
Mainly where I'm concerned is the size difference in the playerbase. My character is roughly a foot and a half from midget status...

I always thought Judge armor was one size fits all… Would be much cheaper to mass produce, and considering crime inthe dome, it would need to be mass produced for all those poor judges who die day in and day out.
I've always invisioned something like the jacket Marty McFly buys in back to the future... He presses a button and it automattically shrinks to fit him.
I don't see how people get all pissy over a 7' bastige wearing a 4' Judge's armor... I think future armor should be able to be mass produced one size that adjusts to fit the person.
Obviouslly, this is not tru of tailored items such as normal clothing. But mass produced judge armor that is made to replace the dying judge's armor would need to be made in the most cost effective way...IMO.

Oh… oh.. it could be something cool like Lost In Space the movie where Joey pushes a button and his armor plates crawl up and around him.

Have you ever read the description for "Wear WJF Helmet" IT DOES THAT! and then when you remove it, it retracts back into the neck of the attack armor.

If it were mass produced then one would suspect there would be plenty in waitng for that Judge who did die. Sadly that's not true and in losing it, a judge depends on the admin to reproduce it each and every time. By story it is unique to each person, and therefore I feel it -should- be.
Because the equipment is not supposed to ever reach the general public, certain 'restrictions' are in place. Take the Enforcer for an example if you will…it, no doubt, is mass produced as well. Thing is, not just any old chum can touch it, let alone shoot it.

I think theres always room for improvment so I think you should be able to have mass-produced adjustable armor Cause we are 100 years in the future here.
P.S I do like the armor that when you push a button you turn into the tin man on X-men.

Hasn't anyone seen Back to the Future 2?
Press a button and the clothes refit to you.
I do prefer this view as we had characters with all refit clothes and armor specific for their size (waaay smaller than 5') that got their shit stolen and worn by over 6' tall players.
It's the era of nanotechnology, the age of synthetic materials. Why can't you have shit that stretch and contract to the specific size? I think we should or already have.
