Two Ideas for one! (Mag levs and Luck!)

@idea from Nicadeamus

1) Mag-levs. Shouldn't there be a way to jump the gate?! Like in the london trams? Or the Calgary LRT? You could have NPC ticket cops who fine you.
2) Luck. I was thinking. Shouldn't luck have a more active role? Like say you want to open a locked door. Shouldn't there be a miniscule chance that your luck could twist fate and have it open? The locking mechanism failed? And inversely, shouldn't a poor luck situation cause you greif in small ways? Like, I know skill superceeds luck, but sometimes things in the world pull the wrong way, and you slip. A minor thing, but still…can be costly in a tight situation...just a thought.

I like the idea on luck… of course, some things you are more likely to 'get lucky' with than others... a poorly crafted lock, for example, would be more likely to just happen to bust and let you in, than a finely-tuned, hardened emp-proof electronic lock. You'd also be more likely to screw up picking said hardened emp-proof lock due to bad luck than you would with the cheezy little mechanical one, and the results could be potentially much worse with the former as well.

And here's a seperate idea that just popped into my head... what if retinal/palm/finger scanners could be set to record scans of people who try to scan in but don't match, so that later said scans could be handed over to the WJF as evidence of an attempted breakin, or used otherwise against the aspiring burglar? Could always be a nifty $500 chyen add-on or peripheral for the main unit. Also, it would be neat to have eq with which you could record people's retina, thumb prints, palmscans, etc. for less savory purposes as well. Alright, well, just a couple of relatively random thoughts there for you all.

nice idea pulse with the recording of attempts.

On luck:

 Luck is currently available if its needed for every stat check that you fail. Every 24 hours, your luck 'pool' replenises based on your luck stat. Throughout the day, as you fail stat checks, it pulls a tiny bit from your luck pool to give you another roll. When your luck pool is empty, your 'shit out of luck'.

Searched and seen quite a few different posts pretaining to luck, but this seemed the most concentrated on the subject.

Anyhow, I was wondering if this 'luck' pool was still in effect per say, and if so would you elaborate.  'IF' relying on luck, does that take come into play on most things such as:  Dice, lock picking, and fighting (such said instances).   I at first took luck as a 'dry' stat due to it not even being listed on the 'help stats' list.  I was using it as more of a tool for rp such as why I fell into some chy, or how I kept from being caught.

Just curious

Luck is still in use, naturally. It works just like johnny said it does, if you fail a stat-check (IE you're walking through a express tube and you fail the stat roll…but wa-la luck pool!). Its also in use for a very marginal group of skills, I think...and even then its under specific circumstances.

There's also the command @luck to decide how direct a roll luck plays in your characters so-called life.

Some people love luck, others don't bother with it into they're capable in other spectrums. Regardless, always remember...you are not your stats. Its your cunning that lets fall into chy and keeps you from getting caught.
