I think it would be neat if the WJF as well as TERRA had a ranking system. From what I can tell, Judges are the highest authority, and the only thing higher then them is the Staff Judge and Inquisitor.
I am thinking about not so much ranks as to whom can boss whom around, but to show how long you've been on the force, etc. Not to mention it would be pretty cool to have stripes on your uniform and it would give players motivation to keep up the good work. With it also comes increased pay and more opportunity.

It would be a good indicator for other judges and agents as to whom has been around and knows what they're talking about and all that good stuff.
Like a fresh recruit would have no stripes, aJudge who has been on the forcer for three months gets a stripe, and so on and so fourth, with opportunitys to gain rank and pay before the set promotion times too.
I see alot of potential here.

I like this idea too. Maybe there could also be awards and shit.. medal of honor for bagging a dozen dirty mixers..

I think it would be cool, but after so many months/years, you would either run out of room on your armor, or they would just quit given them to you.
I also think it could be a cool way for Mixers to show off their muscle.
Mixer A:Whoa, does that armor have 4 stripes? And I thought my 2 striped-armor was special.
Mixer B: Yea, did it muhself, wasnt nuttin' special.

…or ten stripes is equal to one heart-shaped patch, or other similarly 'manly' decoration.

You could model after the US military grades such as E-1 to E-9, e-9 being as far as you're going in your career.

Dont forget the officer ranks, e-9 is highest enlisted, but if you go to OCS then you become o-1 (ensign) and work up the O ranks.

I think special type awards would be cool too. Like if you make 50 arrests in a month you get the Judge Murphy Award for services to the city.
Or something like that.

I didn't, I just failed to mention them becuase I don't see how they would be incorporated into this due to the current system, where Judges are pretty much equal in power. The rankings would just allow them higher pay, recognition, be the first to be considered for a task, etc. etc.

Man, if I have some time one of these days I'm going to try and assemble all of Iga's important posts on the society/system of the Dome.. but ideally it would be great if this kind of info had more of a voice IC.

I can think of a few IC outlets for information such as this.. the problem with some of Iga's posts is that if you were living in the Dome, like actually living there, most of this stuff would be comon knowladge that no one ever talked about because it was just -known-.
I do think the WJF Ranks could be on the GRID, or in the appendix of the Book of Law. Both because normal citizens (or atleast Corpies) would want to be able to recognize the diffrence between a rookie Judge and a Staff Judge, and be able to address them formally.

By the way, Ensign is only in teh Navy and Coast Guard. I don't see any boats in the WJF, so 0-1 would be a second class LT, then LT first class, Captain, Major, etc etc.
But yeah, like it matters, yar.
