Does int have a factor on hiding?

In game people say it does, but there is nothing in the help files that says it does. If it does is it possible to add it to the help files? The misinformation in the game is making it really hard to build my character correctly.
That is definitely something to figure out icly I am afraid.

I personally wish all the stat-skill/checks relations were 100% transparently public but it's what it is.

They should be, How am I suppose to build my character if I don't have all the info. It's always kinda bugged me. If it affects gameplay I should have access to the info. Otherwise I'm just assigning points randomly.
Pay people icly to learn from them, do so with multiple of them and take out the average of misinformation.
Also we have had a bunch of other stuff involving combat explained, Why can't we have this explained?
And the IC knowledge is not accurate. People make stuff up.
I agree that like 90% of IC info is inaccurate. But it's just the rules. Kinda dumb ones, yeah, but it's how it goes. I just wouldn't worry so much about trying to make your character the absolute best at something.
It's not about making the character the best at something. It's about possible spending weeks worth of UE on something I don't really need and wouldn't put many point into unless it's required.
You will be getting all your stats up to the curve at the very least, unless you want it intentionally stunted in some way, do not sweat it too much.
Which is why 'm asking that it be changed. We shouldn't explain some things and not others. It makes it hard to tell whats allowed to be talked about. I would like an answer on this. Because IC can't give me correct info.
There is a very careful and difficult balance between providing information to build a character for the thing you want, and leaving some mystery and magic behind the system.

The incomplete information is there for two reasons:

1) Nobody knows? Nobody can be GOD of anything

2) Trial and error is encouraged to gain knowledge, then once you've gained this knowledge, you're in a position to teach. Now, you may be wrong, sure, but finding a good teacher is RP in and of itself. Trust me, there are characters who are good at sneaking, certainly better than your character early on, so they've figured it out and may very well be willing to teach the right chummer. For a price.

The good news is that if you put stats into intelligence, it's still good. No stat is without its uses, so try not to sweat it too much like Froggy said and let the RP guide you.

Final final answer? If you REALLY feel like you missed the boat on a build, you can do a 1-time respec later in the characters life to fix that.

Hope this helps :)

What the above says.

BGBB isn't a place to discuss the mechanics of how stuff works.
