We had a conversation on OOC-Chat the other night about Roleplay and stuff that sparked from the Origins. The advice I gave is the same as I've given over the years, so I figured I'd post it here too, so everyone can see it, not just those on OOC-Chat.
nogodsnokings: I am curious though, if some of these origins give some pretty cool benefits or drawbacks. What happens to characters at the moment that might want something like that? Maybe I want to be indebted to some powerful people!

Staff Mench: There's been nothing but yourself stopping you from adding that to your history or helping before you roll your character to sort it out. You don't ask, you don't get type shi'; think outside the box. But also, you can just RP that shit, always have been able to.
eggsaresides: Exactly.
Staff Mench: It's what I've always said; we're in an RP sandbox. You can just go RP shit; stuff doesn't needed to be coded or okay'd by a staff member for you to RP it (Within common sense limitations). You wonna be a janitor for ashlin, go rp it. You wonna be a travelling merchant on gold, go rp it. You want to be hunted down by a group of space clowns because you stole their ring leaders prized penguin statue, go rp it; every time you die, blame it on the damned clowns. They're always out to get you, even though you just drowned in the sewer.
Staff Mench: Rp game means RP. Don't confine your self inside the mechanics and don't be scared to ask staff if you can do something. Contrary to popular belief, we're not here to shut you down and destroy your ideas. We keep things in limits, and we help boost the creative things that get done. Who knows, you RP it good enough; we might just make it an actual thing as well.

Staff Mench: There's more to Sindome than min-maxing stats and playing the mechanics to earn the most Chy. RP and mental mad shit is great and it's that stuff that makes me want to make stuff.

I really, really want people to think outside the box more when it comes to RP because that's where it really begins to flourish and the moist creative juices flow succulently.
Roleplay is roleplay; do more dumb shit and enjoy the day-to-day. Go do it. The only thing stopping you is you. (Most of the time)
