The IT department is excited to announce Microsoft�s newest feature for email:
Voice Activated, Voice Operated Outlook Mail (VAVOOM).
Because this is a �server side� product, it is already available to all MIS Outlook users without requiring a client upgrade.
To initialize the voice features, bring up your Outlook Inbox (you will have to do this manually for security reasons). �Once your Inbox is displayed, simply say �VAVOOM� in a clear voice to activate the system. �You may have to repeat this step several times until the software �learns� your voice pattern. �A dialog box will indicate that you have been successful.
Voice commands are easy and intuitive:
OPEN MAIL � opens the oldest unread message
NEXT � closes the current message and opens the next unread message
DELETE � deletes the current message
CLOSE � closes the current message
EXIT � closes Outlook
In the near future, the system will be modified to support voice access to the global address book as well as your personal address book and contacts.
