But perhaps one shouldn't be sitting at ones computer, load up the moo, and go off to play Diablo2, surf the web, and code elsewhere. Especially on a regular basis. And if you do, jump @ooc while you do it. It isn't really fair to idle your way to UE now is it.
Course, I'm probably just as guilty of doing this once in a while too. That 70's Show on tv? I'll just leave Nic here on and watch.
It isn't really a problem unless you have macros or something to stop the timeout code. That sort of repeated action can get you toaded for 2-3 weeks. Or more if you keep it up. I've heard it has happened to others. Improvisor I belive.
Should happen to all offenders though. Admin should take a pretty hard line on it. Give 2 warnings, then third offence gets you a 2 week suspension. Give or take.
Just wandering thoughts on idle.
So. This is not a statement from the admin of the moo. This is just something I think I should say.
If you're idle, set @OOC. Phone calls, rescuing kittens from trees, buying a hamburger, taking a trip to the moon, these are ALL things that can be done while @ooc.
Better yet, if you're doing something that takes a long time, log out. If you're idle, you're gaining UE for a character that honestly, doesn't need it that badly. If you did, you'd be actively roleplaying to help further that character's goals, not just sitting on your ass in your apartment, hoping you get some UE to drop to make you more bad ass.
Okay. Stepping down off the soap box now. Thanks for your time.
If you are in an IC area, you are fairgame. End of story. And I am speaking as an admin.
Now you all play nice now :P
