Music Sharing Amnesty Bad!

Some of you may have heard about the recording industry's amnesty program where you give them a written promise not to pirate music and enough information to identify you and they tell you they won't sue you.

Just in case the RIAA decides to start pressuring your school to push an amnesty document onx all it's students … avoid it at all costs because they aren't the only ones that can sue you!

PC World covering The Electronic Freedom Foundation Warning

I figure we got enough college peeps in the house, might be worth a warning. :)

those grubby  bastards not only sued a 12 year old, but some 80 year old man too, and just because his grandkids were downloading on his cpu.

here is the one thing for all to consider:
bands don't make shit off of you buying cd's if you spend $16 on a cd the band gets a dollar to split between them.   their real money comes from endorcements, merchandise and espically concert tickets. I download, and the artists I like I buy their stuff, I go to their concerts, hell I even go buy the cd's I've download if I really like them.

anyone see tech nine's website?  I usually don't care for rap, but this guy is giving away his new cd, and saying if you like it buy it to watch the dvd that comes with it, or come to my concert, or buy my t-shirt.

on another note I had a freind go to a maiden concert and the singer said "this is a new song, and I want whoever has a tape recorder right now to turn it on, and up"  he went on to say that they know they are good, and have been around for even and still sell out shows (the one my friend went to was sold out and at $60 a ticket no less)

hell even lars ulrich's whiny bitch ass would be nowhere without pirateing back in the 80's (for those of you who remember)  metallica got popular because everyone was copying tapes for thinr friends, hell hetfield said it himself.

which brings me to my final point, the only bands (that I've seen) ok, well not only, but most, bands that complain about piracy are one hit wonders that need to make as much money as they can while they can because in the next year or two their albums are going to be in the discount rack with new 'kids on the block' albums.

fuck the RCIAA they are proud of suing little kids and senior citicens, what are they trying to do? scare us into buying cd's sure some will stop downloading because of fear of prosecution, but most informed intelligent people will realize that WE SUPPORT THEM not the other way around. and we should throw up the bird right back at them and not buy any of their cd's.

the only people getting rich off of cd's is the record companies. ok, the bands make their dollar a cd, while sony makes their $10 and laughs at us all of the way to the bank.

ok I gotta stop ranting now.  what do you think?

I think Bruce Dickinson kicks ass.
dont be mad at me and hit me…

but who's Bruce Dickinson?

hopefully not related to emily dickinson..

wait.. i mean emily bronte... that annoying sister of the bronte sisters who try to write... eghh.. i dont like their style of writing. oh well..

who's bruce dickinson again?

Bruce Dickinson is the lead singer of the 'kids on the block'

as if you didnt know!
