My America

"I believe in an America where the separation of church and state is absolute – where no Catholic prelate would tell the President (should he be Catholic) how to act, and no Protestant minister would tell his parishioners for whom to vote -- where no church or church school is granted any public funds or political preference ... I believe in an America that is officially neither Catholic, Protestant nor Jewish -- where no public official either requests or accepts instructions on public policy from the Pope, the National Council of Churches or any other ecclesiastical source -- where no religious body seeks to impose its will directly or indirectly upon the general populace or the public acts of its officials." - JFK (1960)

I can't wait until 2008.

Why can't we have more like him… :(
Becuase he sucked. He only won cuase he was prettier than Nixon.
Don't blame him because he spent UE in charisma instead of agility.
And Nixon didn't suck?

You Americans and your silly bi-partisan politics. Be like Canada! We have gobs of parties, and hell, we are about to go back to the polls because of funding scandals! HOOHA!

On a side note: In the last federal election one of the seats in Calgary was gained through what looks like ballot fixing. The person who won the riding was removed from power, and a bi-election held. The people, and the person who ran in this riding, are now facing criminal charges under Canadian law for fraud.

Doesn't this fact alone give you Americans hope for democracy? Because, well, it may not happen down south, but it sure happens up here.

We had some ballot fixing back in 2000.  It sparked great bumper stickers for the last election too..

My favorite..

"Don't elect Bush this time either."

'Some' ballot fixing?

Gods man, there were nearly 100,000 votes from minorities in Florida that were just not counted.

Well, when I said 'some' I actually meant to equate it to bullets spraying from an MP-11..
I had a really good pic of the supreme court justices concerning the last election, when I find it I'll throw it on a website somewhere and point ya'll to it. It's worth a larf
