I'm Bubbles. I'm kinda a GM, it's debatable.
How did you first discover Sindome, and what drew you to become a staff member?
Discovered it on one of the old mudranks or tmc lists. Wanted to give back a little.
What's been your favorite aspect of being a GM so far?
Harassing Mench and doing random nonsense.
How has your understanding of the game world evolved since you started on staff?
I've learned a little bit more about how some stuff works behind the curtain.
What's your favorite type of plot to run? (Corporate intrigue, gang warfare, mysteries, etc.)
Mysteries. And nonsense.
Do you have a preferred sector or faction to work with, and why?
I don't, not really.
What's the most memorable player reaction you've gotten to a plot twist?
When I gave someone a reward pad for taking the risks and chances in a weeks long plot that others weren't, they were really happy and surprised.
How do you balance planning vs. improvisation when running plots?
For bigger and longer plots, I plan more. For shorter ones, a lot of it is improvisation with a basic goal and outline in mind.
If you could add one new location to Withmore City, what would it be?
I'd like to see a darker club with a layout to promote espionage and clandestine meetings on Gold. But Coral and Butako both have more interesting ideas than me that we could see in the future. I find those more compelling.
If you could add one new feature to the game, what would it be?
I'd love to see more medical and forensic expansion and ways to doctor the data and profit from the toolsets. If PCs could engineer small or isolated disease outbreaks with a mixture of chemistry/medical and existing illnesses, I'd bet a lot of people would cause some stupid fun. Not fatal or isolation diseases, but maybe a hit to a stat, a temp. sense loss, masking, impersonating or planting blood type stuff too.
What's your favorite NPC to animate and why?
Bobby. Because CRAZY BOB'S HERE TO TELL YOU IT'S A FUN STRESS RELIEF FOR A CRAZY CHEAP PRICE.
Which aspect of the cyberpunk genre do you think Sindome captures best?
Oppression and all the webs that spin off from it and how people can react. But for that to flourish it needs completely buy-in from everyone playing.
Do you have any funny or interesting stories from your time on staff?
Mono let me do something incredibly dumb on Thursday night. Sorry for the poor souls involved. We also had an incredible table read for a project where we heard Bonsai's pitch perfect Christ Walken voice. Contender for best staff meeting. Another time we were desperately trying to get a medpak to a PC bleeding out, and we did – only for them to promptly die at the exact moment. Coral and I were so sad.
What advice would you give to players who want to create engaging RP?
Be open to your character looking silly or losing as equally as you are to winning, intimidating and threatening.
What's been your biggest learning experience as a GM?
Learning to be a better gang puppeter. It's a WIP.
If you were a Sindome character, which archetype would you choose?
Urchin.
What's your LEAST favorite puppet you have to do?
Blood stuff for gangs. I can, but feel like I'm subpar at it and don't want to give those players a bad time. I'm currently bullying Logic into helping there because he's much better.
