A few of my favorites.
2020 Hindsight:
ph. The wise act of watching your back.
Aluminum Rain:
ph. (Rig.) Debris that falls from the sky whenever an aircraft explodes or collides with another aircraft.
Ballistic Counselling:
ph. To adjust the attitude of a malcontent who is within range through the use of a firearm or other projectile launcher.
Chinese Take-out:
ph. Anything extremely jumbled or messy. (e.g. "That riotgun made his chest look like Chinese take-out.")
Dead Cat Bounce:
ph. (Fixer) A brief response from an otherwise stomped object or individual that gives the illusion of imminent recovery.
Eleven Bravo:
ph. (Mil.) The MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) of an infantryman in the U.S. Army. More commonly, a reference to cheap, expendable ground troops. (I.e. "Send in more eleven bravo.")
Ferryman:
n. Term for an expert assassin. Believed to be derived from the famed Eurosolo Charon, who took his handle from the figure in Greek mythology who ferried the dead across the river Styx to Hades.
Gravity Check:
ph. Any act of falling down or off something. Almost always painful and usually fatal. (E.g. "Walt just did a gravity check of the Century Plaza tower!")
Hound-Tipping:
n. Popular street practice of ambushing and reprogramming police robohounds.
