K, I'm piss bored and planned to spend the day working on the MOO *mutters*. So, anyone wanna pass the downtime with a game of something?
Quake (original), Q3A or Unreal Tourney?
I -may- have WarCraft II kicking around somewhere.
Them, or I'm open to any suggestions of good games a bunch of us could play and that are quick to acquire from somewhere. Anything, just some competition and fun…
Failing that, anyone want to go kick some ass on a MUD?

if you have Half-Life..
opera.redeemedsoft.com
The -ONLY- first-person shooter (well, mod) that's still as exciting as the first time I played it.

Sadly, and for some unknown reason, Half-Life always locks me up within 30 secs of play.

On regular HL or on a MOD?
D3D or OpenGL or Software rendering?
Try adding this in the command line: -console -nojoy -noipx -numericping -heapsize 135000 -zone 4096 -16bpp
of course, YOUR heapsize should be roughly 2/3 of YOUR ram, in bytes.
I kept crashing/locking up with HL also and I fiddled with command line params for hours and hours, but now it works like a charm…in Software rendering though. But you can't let a lack of anti-aliasing keep ou back. STAND AND FIGHT! RISE AND DESTROY! WOUND!

Hrm. Was HL pretty much out of the box. I did all the usual driver tweaking/upgrading then gave up (bout 2 years ago). Haven't had the CD since…

Too bad, cos The Opera is the best violence you can get at any price. Seriously. If I have free time and I'm not on Sindome, I'm playing TO. I don't think I even have any other game on my HD anymore.
Except Fallout 2. Damn, Fallout 1-2 would have rocked with a 4-player co-op mode.

It's all about Fallout Tactics. Cept I don't know anyone else who's got it.
I'd be all over Half-Life right now if I wasn't on dial-up.

I'd laugh at your dial-up if i didn't find it so sad. No really, i never realized how bad things were for me till I got a broadband connection.
I feel your pain.

Especially since I was on ADSL 2 weeks ago, enjoying my lovely speedy connection. I've been thrown back to the dark ages. *mutters*

*taunts FireStorm, leaving his feelings quite hurt.*
But seriously, there must be some small, old game we can thrash eachother around in.

There's Infantry, and also Cosmic Rift (Sequel to Subspace)
Both on the Sony Station. I mean, the website, not the -play-station. Im sure its called the Station just as a bad case of wordplay so the word Playstation floats about more.

Great…. Damon is around, and the MOO goes down. Why does this seem strange to me?
*eyes*
Damon, you need to get on soon anyways. Haven't talked to you in ages, and yes, your wish came true. :P
(If you can call it a wish... oh well, later dude)

No-one knows exactly why we're down but the entire gigsville.org server has vanished, so it's not just the MOO it's the box. Other than that, we're clueless.

I remember railing Quake 2 on my dial up, with 400+ ping I was considered a god back then, battling LPB's with my meager connection. aaah to be a god.
