That's a very good point and brings up another question I'm curious about.

What would it take to get you to trust a neural implant?

I think of how many security upgrades my phone gets in a year. And as important as phones are, brains would be an even more lucrative attack surface. So I'd need a really good security model. But I don't know what kind of data collection policy I would accept. I'd want some data sent back so they fix the bugs but they'd presumably have access to a lot of neural activity.
