Day of the week is behind by 1 day IC
Every 4 years from Feb 29th - Feb 28th

Every 4 years from February 29th to February 28th, the day of the week in Sindome is behind by 1 due to leap years not matching up. For example, July 16th, 2104 is actually a Wednesday, not a Tuesday.

However, in-game, it's marked as a Tuesday.

On March 1st, 2020, we will have caught up to Sindome's calendar year and a Tuesday will be a Tuesday again. 😊

If Sindome were set 84 years in the future instead of 85, this wouldn't be an issue, because then the leap years would line up. 😅

Just an amusing observation.

I remember the calendars lining up perfectly last year, I checked several times.

Weird.

I've heard this brought up before, It's really goofy. I would be on board with the year being rolled back and the difference being explained by a massive gas leak in the Dome causing everyone to forget the correct year.

I'm joking. But that would be pretty funny.

Actually, I'm wrong. It's more complicated than that.

Years are so stupid. Every year, the first day of the week goes forward 1 day. So January 1st will be a Monday, then next year a Tuesday, then next year a Wednesday and so on.

However, leap years mess this up so that the cycle jumps forward 2 days.

This means that days of the week don't loop perfectly unless they're 28 years apart.

Here's the full cycle of January 1sts, for example, with leap years in allcaps:

Monday

Tuesday

Wednesday

THURSDAY

Saturday

Sunday

Monday

TUESDAY

Thursday

Friday

Saturday

SUNDAY

Tuesday

Wednesday

Thursday

FRIDAY

Sunday

Monday

Tuesday

WEDNESDAY

Friday

Saturday

Sunday

MONDAY

Wednesday

Thursday

Friday

SATURDAY (Next year, loop back to beginning)

Thus for days of the week to line up, it has to be a multiple of 28 years in the future.

That's 28, 56, and... 84. 😮
